Default T-Rex control linkage rod thread size

Does anyone know what the dimensions are for the threads on the control linkage rods? I purchased another complete set today just to get one piece. I want to buy a die so that I can cut a longer rod to length and thread it myself. It would have saved a trip to the hobby shop today.

Thanks...

You're going to be hard pressed to run a thread on a piece of piano wire for roll-your-own linkages. I'm not sure where you could find stock soft enough to cut your own threads on. it'd be cool if you could thread one end normal and the other reverse and somehow get a hex section in the middle so you could tweak the lengths without pulling the ball links off.

I think I'd opt for buying long lengths of threaded rod and cutting them to length.

I posted a message with Align to see if I can get an answer from the horses mouth. I agree on finding rod stock, but I'd be happy just being able to take one of theirs and shortening it.

Thanks...

Does anyone know the die size required to duplicate Align pitch link rod ends?

If I remember, I'll bring a link to work and check it on the pitch gauge we have there... It doesn't really matter what the thread pitch is 'cuz the link ends aren't threaded until you spin the ends on the rod. As long as the diameter is small enough to get in the link and large enough to "cut" secure threads without splitting the link, it should be ok.

Final answer, I take it is M1.5 x 0.35. Now lets see if I can find a tap and a die set for it!
