To add to what FB was saying in his video on runout on the hub....

When you get that first runout setting, and mark the high spot on the hub, adjust (spin) the hub until run out is at a minimum. Then tighten the nut, and check for run out again. This time, if it exceeds your limit (0.005", typical), tap on the high spot lightly with a plastic mallet or screwdriver handle. LIGHTLY at first, then with increasing force to move the hub.

Then tighten the hub nut again, check for high spot, and tap it. Keep this up until you are satisfied with the torque on the nut, as well as the minimum run out. When I did this to my engine, I was able to dial the run out down to about 0.00008" (yes, less than 0.001").

Hope this helps someone out!!

F6, I have visions of some one misunderstanding your "then with increasing force to move the hub." and ape slapping there crank into the work bench.

Rolls eyes

Don't mind if you use the fuel tank trick, also cut some 1/2" dowels to stand up the frame helps keep it level when its lying flat, you can use some electrical tape and tape them to the frames if it keeps teetering off.

Did Finless Ebay this bird to get it off his work bench? Sure would have been nice to see it finished and see him fly it. Was FB ever involved with the Aurora development, just a hunch? Just giving a tweak here.
I know FB is in demand, hope all the parts are there when he gets back to this build.

Saw in another thread that his money job has him buried at this time, he'll get to it when there is a breather. Randy

Let's give him a break remember he does all his reviews for free and on his own dime.

Thanks Bob for all the info you uploaded over the years

Lets give the pantera a break also.

I am putting my second one together and it's not a bad bird at all.

My third will be an AP Fpv ship either with gas or electric power.
