Default HDX300 with ICECOLD motor

Call me a glutton for punishment but after playing around with the CP Pro Brushless conversion with some success I bought an HDX300 belt driven tail kit for a challange. It arrived with the AKE IceCold 450R35LT-F brushless motor. In a seperate purchase, thinking I was getting a Sonix 3800KV motor I purchased the Castle Creations Phoenix 35 Amp ESC. I haven't mounted anything yet.

I'm a little concerned after reading all the posts "after" I bought the goods, but I believe with attention to detail and a bit of luck, I can get it to fly with minimal problems.

My question is will the CC 35 ESC work with this motor without any ill effects other than the extra 10 grams of weight? The LHS was out of 25 Amp ESCs and I didn't want to wait. In hindsight, I could have ordered a 25 while I built up the frame but hey, I'm one of those, 'gotta have it now' kind of guys.

I'm just concerned the CC35 might be overkill now and I don't want to fry anything when I get to the point of hooking up the electronic bits.

Thanks.

I happen to have a CC Phoenix 25A, only a few months old, that I love. I would happily trade with you if you want?

Sorry Tom,

If the CC35 ESC is too much I'll find another use for it with my other projects. Plus it's been over a week since I received the HDX300 kit and I've taken my time building it. I'll probably end up with a new CC25 from another hobby shop this weekend. At the rate I'm going, It will be well into next week before I even try to fly it.
