Default Logo 400 - Mini-VBar - Mounting - READ THIS!

If you are going to mount the Mini Vbar on the Logo 400, the obvious spot behind the main shaft need modding for it to fly good.

Since the frames arent very stiff and isnt connected, its really isnt a good place.

I did the following from top to bottom:

- MiniVbar
- Futaba gyro tape or stock tape.
- 3mm fiberglass plate, sized as the whole area up there on the L400
- Layer of silicon double-sided tape (very thin 1mm, effect are like epoxy almost), so that or epoxying it will work, harder to get the frames apart if you epoxy it though.

It made TOTAL difference.
I knew my mini didnt fly well because I just removed a full size VBar from it which flew fine, but for anyone that havent tried the Logo 400 Vbar before, it can be tricky.
Without the 3mm plate it just felt "slipperish", not locked in, and it introduced drifting from time to time.

dont think it matters if you use Fiberglass, 2 or 3mm or CF or even alu, trick is to get a plate covering both frames, and it should be rigid.

This was a great mod MrMel. I did it to my Logo 400 yesterday and it flys GREAT now, much more locked in!

I will post pics of my mod once I get a few taken. I used a piece of CF as well.

Thanks MrMel!

Here is my mounting plate made by customheliparts.com. It is cut and rounded at the corners nicely. The material is G10 ~1.8mm thick. I believe he will make more of these if the one I have is proven to be successful. I will be testing this new plate tomorrow.

What tape are you guys using under the plates? I see a reference to silicone double sided tape, but I am not familiar with where to get it?

Did anybody end up making pre fab plates for these? I looked on the CustomHeliParts site and wasn't able to find them.

Thanks!

The tape I'm refering to is this;
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMRA9&P=7

But any thin, "stiff" tape will do, I recon I would have used regular 3M as you can buy on the hardware store if I hadnt used this one.

That is what I was wondering about. I have some very thin and stiff 3M tape that should work.

Thank you for the response!

Hi
I use the Jive ESC, with an extra cable power BEC. So which channel should I plug the BEC cable in the Mini V-bar: RX C or RX A. Thanks
