Default Trex 700 Main Frame Auto Cad File in DXF format

I have drawn up a Trex 700 main frame auto cad drawing in dxf format.

The dxf format failed to load here. Let me change it to jpg and post it here later.

How do you guys achieve these really accurate drawings? Do you scan the frame then trace and scale to get a rough idea? I want to replicate my Atom sideframes at least somewhat accurately....

I did it by tracing the actual frame on a metric size graph paper, scanned it, paste the image into autocad and started from there.

There is a simple and free raster to vector software called Wintopo,

http://wintopo.com/.

You can save a DXF file of any raster image in seconds and also save it in other formats and then just import the DXF file into your CAD software.

Regards,

Gregory

come along way from the puck and board Huh?

I've done some laser stuff but now there is so much freeware out there why. Take the image in 2d from multi angles...old style front back top bottom and bang you have a 3d image with the right software. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

I'm not even 40 and I remember having to use pen and paper...if you really had money you could use a 3d stylus. Man, we've come along way.

Hi!

Can`t you use Winrar or Winzip, and then upload it?

Maby if you zip it in a .zip file, not a .rar file..

Greetings from Robert.

That's cool, I am scanning and importing into Cad/Cam and then drawing over features with very precise results. But it does take some time doing t manually. I'm going to have to give this a shot.
Thanks for the link.
