Yes, throttle curve, but you need to look at the Monitor, that's whats going out.
For sample Hover trim etc can interfere, you do not see it in the throttle curve page unless you have a specific "OUT:" in that one.

Just to point that out.

What value can I put on the readout on the Tx Tab and Gov 1 tab at the "Preset channel from Rx (Channel 4)" with 98/110 set in my TX? Those are reading -100/+100..

Default 5.1 governor

Mr Mel, I set up my (separate) governor as you suggested in episode 14 and it is working well. My question though is that in normal mode when spooling up everything is good until I get to half throttle the engine dies out and I am not able to fly until I switch to Idle 1 or 2. Once I do that everything is good but I would like to fly around in normal mode. Is there a way to disable the governor in normal mode or be able to spool up to half throttle and then go to a goverened head speed past half throttle?
Thanks for the great videos.

With separate receiver? (with Spektrum or Futaba SBus you can utilize bankswitching to get full range throttle on normal)

But on separate receiver is a bit tricker, you can you up to 49% throttle in normal mode, then you need to make a bigger jump so the requested RPM is Ok.

Default nitro governor

Yes, what I meant was separate receiver. Its been a long time since I worked on this because I got frustrated and started just using throttle curves on the transmitter which works OK because I have a new engine and wanted to break it in by running it very rich.
I have an 8 channel Futaba R6008 receiver with a futaba 10C trans. OS50 hyper engine. I went through your Episode #14 lots of times and think that I have set my system up as you describe. The extra connector from TX Channel 3 (throttle) to aux in the Vbar etc.
I went back and set up normal mode as you described in previous post with a throttle curve up to 49% and then a flat curve at 80% and my idle up curves also flat. I also tried some other combinations of 0% up to 50% and different flat curves in normal mode.
My problem is that when in normal mode as I ramp up the speed as it approaches 50% the engine will cut out completely or if I speed the the throttle input through the dead spot the engine will race violently for a few seconds until the governor starts to work. Both Idle up curves work fine.
I have had some success by easing up the throttle in normal mode to just before it starts to cut off and switching to an idle up mode. Normal mode under 50% is not enough for me to hover. (because of the pitch curves)
I started with the run up setting at 30 as you recommended, lowered to 15, then to 3 but that doesn't help so its back to 15.
Since I have an 8 channel RX, isn't there a way that I can use a separate unused channel for the governor controlled by a switch?
I'm starting to feel like an idioit since nobody else has a problem with this. Nobody else in my club is using the Vbar governor for a nitro. (small club)
Other than that the Vbar works great and the governor was really nice to use in the idle up functions when I used it.
Thanks for all your great work.
Jim

Hi, i have a big problem with vbar 5.0 and Trex 600E. Please help. The problem is that on normal mode (1650 RPM) the heli is rock solid... i love it, but in the very moment that i switched on idle1 (1800 RPM) the heli went crazy and very fast rushed to the right. I almost crash it and it was a pure luck to handle it. When switched Norm again everything was ok again. Mechanicaly everything is ok... the vbar setup is ok too... please tell me what could it be the problem... defective sensor may be?

The DS650 is a standard pulse width servo, so the option with the DS8900G is the correct one.

Got my 1st Vbar a few days ago and watched ALL the videos, I would not have purchased the unit if it was not for the vids and the support on here.

Its a bit intimidating going from one system to another and having to learn everything
Big Thanks to MrMel and others who go out of there way to help

I'm going to be purchasing a mini vbar for my new 600e pro but i have some newbie questions.

how do i control the gyro gain with the radio? i have a dx8
and how do i know when I'm in a rate or heading hold? with align a light would turn red for rate and green for heading hold.

and since programming the vbar is all with the computer what would the settings with ccpm and pitch curves be with the dx8 when setting up a new heli?

thanks.
