Default S613 Sullivan 6mm Heli Starter Extension - soft tip?

I purchased a S613 Sullivan 6mm Heli Starter Extension and the tip rounded out in just a few starts.... it was embarrassing, I had to put the heli on the ground and stand on the landing gear to remove the starter as it jammed in the starter coupling.

I even order 2 more shafts from Sullivan and another one failed....

I noticed that the tip my not be hardened as it is chromed like the shaft.

Anyone else find that this starter tip failed?

I have had the same problem the tip is wearing out quick and getting stuck in the starter coupling. Its ridiculous what we pay for this starter extension and this happens.

Are you saying you ordered just the shaft and not the whole assembley and how much did you pay for it i didnt no you could do that.

Default New extension

I ordered the whole starter shaft and oneway, stripped that shaft, then contacted Sullivan, ordered 2 shafts and paid $18.00/shaft plus shipping (part number is S981711613C) and stripped one and have one left.

I could not find any hobby store or online store which stocks just the shaft.

Similar issue here. I stripped 2 shafts by now. Packing one of them today and will ship them back to Sullivan to ask fo a replacement. For the amount of money I would expect a bit better quality.

I bought one about 3 years ago.
The one-way-bearing failed after the 3rd start.

It looked like all the chrome stripped off the shaft and it could no longer engage with the OWB.

The LHS said "Send it back to Sullivan".
I threw it in the trash.

I bought a brand new Sullivan same as described here.

Lasted probably 20 flights using a 4s pack on a Dynatron before it rounded the end off and stuck in the coupling.

No replacements around in the uk so the wand is a door stop now.

Really poor how they charge top dollar for poor quality like this.

I just emailed Sullivan and sent over a photo of the damaged tip and they sent me out a replacement.
Arrived a couple of days ago and all now sorted.
