Thanks, Bob. The videos about upgrading, flight conditions and trim linking were invaluable, when I first got my Aurora 9.

Happy Holidays!

MY GOD MAN.... I have not seen this much RAIN since the big storms we had in the late 60's out here. But I hope the hell all this rain put some snow up in the Sierra's and filled up the reservoirs so next summer we don't PAY THROUGH THE NOSE for water! Alas... knowing the water systems out here, most of it went down the storm drains right to the ocean

But hey... The SUN just came out here in OC and it's looking good for the next few days

Sorry for the delay but videos now continue. It's been a long while since I shot videos so my experience level dropped a little. I found myself babbling or repeating my self a lot. It is what it is so sorry if it is not up to expectations. BUT if something is unclear please let me know and I can and WILL shoot follow up videos if needed.

Video Link ->Aurora 9 - Model Menus Part 4 - Pitch and Throttle Curves (146 Megs)

The gyro menu took 2 videos to cover. It can be as SIMPLE as you want or super complicated... I say KISS (Keep it simple stupid) but I spent the time to cover every aspect of understanding HOW the gyro menu works and what it means to TRUE gain to your gyro. Again if something was not clear.... Let me know!

Bob I loved the gyro vid's!!!

Yes I guess I'm crazy because I set it up so that I have two different gain values for each flight mode. Why would some one do this you ask?

Well I like to find the perfect gain and if I'm flying say in idle-1 and I set the gain just too high when flying inverted fast, well I can just switch one switch to go into a lower gain without going out of idle 1. It really helps getting the gain dialed in. Pretty awesome.

One thing I found interesting with this radio, with my logo which is using a vbar, you have to use single servo programming, not CCPM. When the radio is in single servo instead of CCPM you lose the ability to do cyclic to throttle mixing or ale and ele to throttle mixing. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here. Weird.

Oh and I just watched the tips gyro vid and it was totally cool. True gain is very helpful. Changing the EPA to get that is rad.

This might be a dumb question but if you are not using a futaba gyro, say a spartan, is it the same ratio?

Definitely going to setup the CT style switch to adjust the gain in flight. That will help TONS! Thanks again Bob. Your a SAINT

Maarset, are you on the latest code? Mine when swash is set to 1 servo the SWH->THR mix is still there on page 2. You do loose the swash menu since it is not used for single servo thus inside that menu you loose the "calibration" function which is the ail/elv mixing. Again this is used for CCPM interactions on a CCPM swash and is not used for single servo since that is all mechanical adjustments.

FYI yes, Spartan will be the same. Gain is gain and getting it 1 to 1 with the channel output works on any gyro.

See my video on the Align Gov setup. Doesn't matter what radio the gov works the same for all of them. Then make sure you have the governor menu enabled in the radio. The gov menu works exactly like the gyro gain menu. Above 50 for a positive channel value and below 50 for a negative channel value.

HOWEVER! Remember the Align gov ONLY works when the channel is a positive or above 0 (Above 50 in the % rate setting in the A9 gov menu) value. It will give a red LED if it is below 0 (or below 50 in the A9 gov menu).

You will then have to set the rate value in the gov menu above 50, tach your head speed and adjust as needed. My guess is for the align gov you would start out with a value of about 80 in the gov rate setting. Don't forget to SEPARATE the conditions if you want different head speed in different conditions. Again just like the gyro gain menu.

The A9 also has a RPM setting instead of a % rate setting. You can use that but understand unless the A9 knows your gear ratio, the RPM number it shows in this menu will not be accurate. I have no clue what the A9 uses as a gear ratio to calculate that. Also note that 1500 is 0 (or center) in the channel. Going below 1500 is a negative channel value and the align gov will turn red LED.

Remember the channel monitor screen is your friend. Watch what it is doing.

I will have a video on the gov menu later.

Hmmmm..... honestly I don't remember and I do not have one hooked up right now to anything to check to see if that is normal. It may be.

When you go to calibrate make sure the gov gain channel is at max. e.g. in the gov menu set it to 100%. Then calibrate again and see if that helps.
