As far as I know they are.

I've got a 450SE V2, stock grips, but anticipate changing them over to the pro grips sometime in the future. What I'm thinking of doing is to get a pair from you for the pro grips and just run them temporarily on the V2 grips. My understanding is that they would be a bit too light, but my tail servo has 51 oz of torque, so I'm thinking this would be a good upgrade path without having to replace the weights later. If you think I'm on track here, send your paypal info and I'll get some $$ off to you.
Thanks,
Joe

How much do these weights weigh?

Looking at the video I'm still not 100% convinced...

The aerodynamic force that wants to straighten out the tail blade seems to me much greater than the "tennis racket effect" forces induced by the lightweight tail blades..
The additional weight of the "chinese weights" seems to me to only reduce the effectiveness of the thrust bearings in the tail grips by loading it up.

I guess one way to test this is to add the same amount of weight in the plane of the tail blades.

I do worry about the life of the thrust bearings after this mod...

IMO you are gaining nothing by going to the pro grips if you intend to use my chinese weights anyway. Is there anything that is performance increasing in the pro grips except the weight bulges? You are correct that you could use the PRO weights on SEV2 blade grips and they would just be a little light but still very effective.

The specific weight of a set of weights is useless information. It is where the weight is concentrated in the weight that affects how well it reduces tennis raquet forces. I have mathematicaly modeled tennis raquet effect and can analyze a CAD solid model of the weights and tell exactly how much they will reduce TRE. You will notice on my weights that the weight is concentrated at the ends. That is because the weight is most effective the farther away it is from the feathering axis. That means you can make a lighter weight which speaks tro your other question.

You are correct that adding weight increases the centripetal force seen by the thrust bearings. But thousands of weight users have found the decrease in pushrod force and corresponding increase in performance far outweigh any unseen decrease in bearing life.

Testing is the answer and you will find that weight added in the plane of the blade will definately increase the pushrod force.

Most tail blades have the feathering axis close to the aerodynamic center which is is the location on the airfoil located ľ of the chord back from the leading edge.. If a symmetrical airfoil is pivoted on the aerodynamic center it takes no torque to move or hold the airfoil at any reasonable pitch. My answer is very little, if any, of the pushrod force is generated by aerodynamic forces on the tail blades. Testing done without the blades shows the vast majority of the pushrod force is still there. The slight increase in pushrod force when adding the blades is caused by the mass of the blades being aligned with the pitch arm. Donít confuse the power to drive the tail rotor assembly with the torque needed to change or hold the pitch of the tail blades.
Go to http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/K12/airplane/ac.html for more detail on aerodynamic center

I have had no reports of bearing issues even on the T250 that has no dedicated thrust bearing.

I'm interested in a set for my Trex 450 Pro V2 3GX. I will be running the KDE tail upgrade. Will these work together okay? If so, please PM me payment info to 35757. I'm new here so hoping I can send/receive PM's.

The KDE tail upgrade increases the tennis raquet effect so you want to use the SEV2 weights even though the blade grips are weighted.

The effect is there on the main blades also. it will be zero at zero pitch and increase with + or - pitch. No gueses but it will be substantial. Testing would be a little scary though.
