I saw where some are using the 1100mah battery. Where are you finding it or are you separating a11.1v 1100mah? If so again where is a good place to get the Hyperion at a good price? thanks.

Back together
I finally got my 120 back together. Good thing is I now have 2 - 120s. One modded, the other stock with all of the leftover parts and a couple of spares I had around. Things I've learned (expensively) are that the RKH skid mounts are pretty easy to break and thus can break the RKH battery mount. I went with a different battery holder that seems to do fine with the larger battery on it. I also had this TBE issue that I finally corrected by reassembling everything and lubing with finishline dry lube. At least that's what I think did it. I did put a microheli flybar on in place of the RKH so not sure if that was the fix as well for the TBE or just dumb luck. I have 2 nice flybars now I guess. Now that I'm flying I'll start on the tic-tac container for the camera including the wide angle lens. I bought some shielding paint that you can use in place of the copper shielding in guitar control cavities so I'm going to give that a go.

I have tried just about every Mod on my 120, As it sits now I have RKH swash, MH Flybar, Stock CF Shaft, Xtreme Motor, MH Aluminum Tail Rotor Housing/Carbon Vertical Fin, everything else stock. I have tried all the Blade Grips and Main Rotor Hub, and found that the stock ones work the best.

Same here, no budget for pretty stuff. However I have found certain stock parts fail often for me and upgrading is more of a long term maintenance investment. Maybe next month.

Long story short - the connecter on the e-flight battery that came in the kit slipped off the wires after only 2 uses, wires touched, lots of smoke, but luckily separated as I let go of the battery. I'm fairly sure I wasn't pulling on the wires to disconnect the battery, I know better than that.
Prolly wasn't you, I had the main motor jst go open circiut in flight dropping my poor heli out of the sky. I could not even get a wire or pin to come lose by tugging on em. I'm sayin they are cheap for a reason. |

sorry if this has been covered somewhere in this thread...
Is there a list (in order of importance) of 120sr mods that helps performance? This heli is a training tool for me before stepping to a CP. So I'm not interested in bling. But if there are some aftermarket parts that make this thing fly better/more stable I am game. I've already gotten a bunch of ProTek batteries from amainhobbies. Thanks!!!! |

There are 2 pages worth of posts about the tail bearing mod in this thread, why don't people just use some rtv to hold it on?

Did the Solo Pro 328 head slip right on the main shaft? What about blades? Grips?

According to his blog he used the main shaft of the solo pro......everything. The main shaft gave him about 2mm slop but still flies fine....you have to read his link and you will find all your answers FYI.

Old-style extreme canopy??? Where to buy???
Anyone know where to get the old-style extreme canopy? The model I am looking for is right here. It's the post by liftbag. I've seen some other color schemes for the same canopy posted by others but I can't seem to find that model canopy anywhere...? Help please...

Also, if you right-click on the post number in the upper right hand corner of a specific post and choose "Copy Link Location" (the actual menu item might be different based on your browser), you can use that URL to link directly to the post you're referring to. |
