Default DX7 Lipo 11.1V

Total noobie question here, but at the suggestion of LHS, I picked up a LIPO 3s 2600mAH for my DX7.

Then I read in detail in the manual that the voltage should never run that high and tha 9.6v is the limit. The LIPO is 11.1V and 3S and Spectrum says no go since it goes to 12.6v on full charge.

Not sure why LHS would suggest this when Spectrum says no go. Are others out there using 3s Lipo's in their DX7? What about failures due to too much voltage ( which Spectrum says can happen) ?

I don't charge mine above 12V and it still lasts for ages. A risk is leaving the tx powered on and ruining your lipo though. I've been loving it, especially since I use a modified DSM WL1000 with the DX7se for SIM use and DSM will drain the stock battery in less than an hour!
