Default DX8 Swash Expo - still got the bug?

It is "well known" that enabling Swash Expo on a DX7 if your subtrims were not zero "caused problems". I don't really remember the problems.

The DX8 manual (p27) reads:
This screen also allows an Expo function that compensates for the effect of the servo's rotation at extremes of travel... Unless using a linear servo or a type of lingage that eliminates this effect, you should turn on the Expo function when any CCPM mix is enabled.
Ok, sounds good. I think it's clearer what's up than in the DX7 manual.

Both my helis are VBar, so I don't use CCPM in the Tx. This doesn't apply to me, but I'm curious: did they fix the "bug"?

In particular, is there a way to see the problem on the monitor?

Thanks for any input.
