Trex 250 nitro

Has anyone noticed the elevator servo is mounted on the opposite side of the frame than the control horn. They must have some linkage connection the servo and the control horn.

Notice the all-in-one 3G unit? Rx going in on it's right, 4 servos plugged in on it's left. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they've been announced or exist. This leads me to believe it's a real prototype. Unless someone decided to Photoshop/Render their own electronics while they were already trying to trick us with a nitro 250.

i have just one minor point to make, where is the throttle servo? there is not enough room in the frame to hold 4 servos!!! plus the receiver is only 6 channels, for nitro dont you need minimum 7!!

No - you don't need 7 channels for nitro. It's recommended, of course, to have a governor, but not a requirement. I fly two nitro birds with 6 channels and have no issues.

Youll only need 7 if you are running a govenor or if you want to use the remote gain channel for your gyro. This really isnt needed for most fbl systems since gain is controlled through computer software or the unit itself.

If you look right below the gyro, there is a cutout in the frame. The frame could have the same cutout on the opposite side with a servo attached for the throttle. Maybe not.

Shoot, I don't know. Only time will tell.

Align has kept stuff pretty quiet about new developments lately. Look at the Trex 100, it went from the heli "renderings", to Alan Szabo flying it in a pretty short time. I am in no way saying that Align did all this overnight, merely saying that they kept a pretty tight lip about the 100.

The frame is only the thickness of the servo, so if a servo was installed on the other side, we would be able to see the bottom of it on the side we can see in the photos. Also channel 3 on the rx(throttle) is open. I do think that is the cut out that will be used for throttle. I think this is a real prototype, but it might not make it into production. At least we'll know it is real if that new fbl controller shows up. The 3G is just about a year old now......

For a company going electric in their bigger helis and now with their FP entry, I doubt it would make sense for them to put out such a tiny nitro. From the fine scrutiny of the photos it is unlikely that this is a rendering or photoshop job unless it is a very meticulously crafted hoax. I would guess that this is simply somebody did their own conversion and custom canopy decals just for fun (maybe even somebody working at Align) and then the photos were stumbled upon.

Real or not, there is no doubt that the concept has created a lot of excitement among some people that aren't getting enough fly time in this winter.

There is a 450 nitro, Protech Zoom 450IC performance is what you would expect, less than it's electric counterpart. But flying time is said to be great, gas N go.........

I've never seen a nitro 450 fly in person.

I think it is fake...biggest give away is the elevator servo... never the less the PS work is pretty impressive

i dunno if this was said but the 3g sensor is plugging right into the RX instead of the program box
