Ya, I agree, I think they did. Rather passive aren't they? Perhaps there's an uber firmware update that actually turns it into a beast!

Maybe Stephan can enlighten us.

I have to admit that I am bit perplexed also. I have been checking back here over past month or so to see if anyone would comment on great new Plus version. But not really anything.

I'm a bit confused on this fizzle of a product but I have a theory.

I had been waiting for the new Beast last winter and had a feeling it was going to be shown at the German toy fair as it was. I was expecting that within a few months Horizon/Spektrum would then announce their North American versions as they are the exclusive importer.

You still can not buy the new version here in North America at this point, so something is up and I am hoping it's just a matter of time now..... And maybe the new sensors will be for the "SAFE" technology as Horizon calls it

When Spektrum came out with the DX9 and their "forward programming" I was expecting that to make it's way into a new Spektrum Beast unit that we could adjust parameters with, like a gov or something...

Oh well....I'll just keep digging a deeper hole and entrench myself further into mikado evilness....hope the Beast wakes up at some point...

If you want a good FBL unit, with a remote adjust feature, and don't want to immerse yourself deeper into vbar, then look no further than the Spartan Vortex, at least until BeastX or Horizon catch up.

That's what I've heard. Beastx is so familiar to me now I don't want to change, works great for me but they really have some catching up to do, as Sutty mentioned. In fact, for my next build I ordered an AR7300BX. I'm hoping for a big firmware update to leapfrog them ahead of the pack........when pigs fly?

Edit: Spirit is making big waves of late too.

The BeastX had to change sensors because the ones they used got discontinued. This forced them to make a new product. Changing the sensors isn't very difficult. I can attach new sensors to the Vortex in less than a week. In fact this is something I regularly do to evaluate new sensor offerings. However, improving the flight algorithms takes months of work, constantly having to out to fly and test things, send firmware to test pilots, etc, etc.

I search for keywords related to our products at least once a day and the only reason I found this thread is because the Vortex was mentioned in earlier posts.

And praised by a beastX wizard, Angelos! Obviously you've done a great job on your product. There are a lot of brands and products out there that should be paying attention as you do.

well this is a surprise because they are not new to the fbl game, they made one of the most used and some say best fbl units in its time.

really i think they could have changed sensors without making a new unit, vbar did it alot. and like you say its not hard to do.

seemed like they had a hold of a large part of the market.

i really want to try one out, but with all the features. Not half or one missing. that just seems very unprofessional
