Why does it need a PC to set those parameters? Seems that with a little ingenuity, I could certainly dial in the phasing at the push of a button. And probably the Revo mix too. Now the BeastX is a half-way house - some PC-only, some push-button only. And if you need the PC to complete the setup, then you might as well give up on the push-button setup altogether. A slippery slope...

Note to Walter: please add push-button interface to f/w V3 for these two params.

You can, just turn it on and see if it's pointing the right way. Works quite well as-is with no tinkering...but the PC interface helps dialing it in for those among us that are sticklers for detail

Three questions:

Is this only for rate mode?

Is it only for helis that have a tail that can't keep up?

What exactly is the asymmetry function?

Well I'm excited. A full software would be great, but for me, all I really wanted was to adjust the tail precomp. It will be interesting to see what's in the future.

I answer the first one myself. I tried it out and it does precomp in both HH and rate mode.

The asymmetry I am still curious about. My tail has zero pitch when the slider is centered. Does this feature allow me to set a 'rate mode' hover?

Alright, setup both my g5 and 6hv with 30 revo mix on pitch and 15 on cyclic. I'll report back tomorrow with my results, should be good

My thoughts exaclty...
Now you can't do everything at the field without a PC but you still have to go through LEDs although you do have a PC . That's IMO they're just giving us some PC software to fulfill the feature they promised a year ago

You can do everything that you could previously at the field - it's not as if they had taken functionality from the current set-up and made it software-only. I don't see the issue - if you don't want to use a laptop to set it up - then don't

I confused as to why you guys are fed-up

Don't get me wrong, I'm not fed up, I'm a MB lover, they have not taken any features away from us and they are proposing new features so that's obviously good. What I'm saying is they are not true to the plilosophy of a simple to adjust unit with an optional PC software. It would have been perfect to get a possibility to do it in the unit and to have a possibility to do everything in a PC for those who want (and I do like that BTW).

If you want all the features you need the buttons AND the PC instead of the buttons OR the PC. Not the best is what I'm saying which surprises me because we have been used to a very smart unit.

Sorry if I don't go for anything they throw at us, I believe competition and constructive comments are the best feedback for a manufacturer and what keeps them going forward.

Rate just makes it easy to figure out what an ideal revo level would be when doing full-pitch collective (pitch pumps). I figure once the number is found, put it back in HH and enjoy a tail that doesnt shift at all no matter how much you slam the collective

I think some things really need a PC, there is only so much you can do with a button, a few LED's and an external guage. I having a hard time figuring how exactly one could input a revo mix angle or degrees of phase using just a button

That makes sense - I hope that we have have both, the buttons and lights so that we can adjust everything at the field, and the PC so that we can easily store and update and keep known good settings while testing other set-ups.

Cheers,
Mike.
