My first draft of a canopy. Just used tape to hold it together to get an idea of how it will look.

I like how you put a design on the inside of the canopy. Never have really liked how most insides are just white.

Could you not just print on both sides of the paper, or print one side and photocopy the other side.
Alternatives use colour paper.

Davy, Does your tail hit your main blades? it looks like it but it may be just the angle. Nice looking bird though.

If you have trouble doing that I will post futher instructions......CyLLIKA posted lots of original templates that I have simply modified in photoshop to my liking

Let me know if this works for you....i think the texturemaps are under "other options" in papakura...

Still waiting to hear how this turned out. My paper canopies look like crap! Not sure I have what it takes to pull this off.

Also, I flew this morning with paper canopy and broke the canopy pin with anti-rotation bracket. I reinforced my canopy pins with hot glue. In six months, I have never broken a reinforced canopy pin. I suspect that the paper canopy is too flimsy and will cost more in frame replacements.

Am I supposed save both of these files, the cutout and the main with full background? Or just the cutout version?

Got mine made a week ago. Took 2 times to finally get it right. I used regular Card stock paper (Thicker than regular paper) and magic tape.
