Well, there are several steps where glue is used. Each time, I used contact adhesive. As I mentioned in my post, that is because I had it laying around and new it would work. However, I am interested in looking into using a spray adhesive when attaching the photo paper to the transparency. As well, if anyone has any suggestions, I would like to hear it. I have zero experience with modelling.

Update: I flew her this morning. I did not notice any ill affects of new canopy. I would expect my canopy to put more pressure on canopy mounts during a crash because my design is rather strong. Visibility was highly improved. And it just looks kick-a$$.

I am a bit pissed at MH swash. I was practicing my inverted nose-in hover and a ball from swash-to-bladegrip link just broke off. I was able to hit TH in time to avert any other damage. But I specifically upgraded to MH stuff to avoid these kinds of issues.

Here's my very first attempt at making one. Didn't have any photo paper handy, but did have some thin label paper. Just didn't take the backing off.

Had some issues with cutting the tape flaps. Now that I've made one, I think the next one will be much, much cleaner. The nose really threw me for a loop trying to make it all come to a point.

Not bad though. I'm AMAZED at the difference this makes for the mcpx. It just looks so much more..... AWESOME. I LOVE it. I can't afford any of the other mods right now, but this has brought new light to my mcpx. I dont know why but nose in and sideways orientation is alot easier now.

Thank you all for your contributions and creating these mods. Your effort is greatly appreciated.

Davy,
Thanks a lot for all canopies you made.

I have trouble seeing the little bird, farther away, when its canopy is facing me. Can you make some with bright red or yellow or orange in the virtual windows section? Thx.

Thanks Davy for the pics, here is my first attempt at work

Is there a way to add a scale indicator on these pictures so when we print them out we know its the right size? Not sure if mine came out to big or small based on my printer here at work.

if you read my post here you'll see how I determine a scale that works for me.

When I print, I make the triangular top piece 78mm long

I have the tdr style skids so not sure how this fits on the standard ones

Happy building!!

After 30 or so crashes and a few tape repair jobs, finally killed my orange canopy and thought I would report!

This one has to be my favorite!

Here is some brick wall damage at like 200mph head on. lolololol good times good times.
You guys should have heard the sound it made! hahahaha SONIC "CRACK"!
No damage to the helicopter at all!
Sickness!
I'm in love.
Best canopy and heli ever.
Thank you so much who ever came together and made this canopy!
You guys made this thing so easy for me to see and fly very far away even.

I need to go print up a ten stack of these canopies right away.
Extremely valuable for MCPX3D
