Cool so I went through this thread again and it looks like scotch 600 tabe works really good. What kind of clear epoxy are you guys getting and spraying these canopies?

I hear ya, I think after my 10th one they started to look better

Just practice you will eventually get the hang of it. The bottom portion is tricky so what I did was cut it off and used it as a template. Now my bottom is one piece just like the top piece and its alot easier to tape.

Before I apply my tape I laminate the paper by using packing tape to both sides of the paper, this makes it nice and shiny and some what durable.

This is one method you can do , get some low stick tape or masking tape and tape the outside of the pieces you are working on. Then use the good tape and apply on the inside. Once you are done on the inside remove the masking tape from the outside and continue until you are all done. You may need to tape some key areas on the outside to make sure it stays together well.

Good luck, and post pics when your done

I don't know about this. For the money I have spent on photo and card stock paper, I think I could have just bought one of those over priced canopies from Europe. I should probably just go back to those 1 piece canopies on the first post. Arts and crafts were never my strong point.

Default MD500 paper body for MCPx

I have been wanting an MD500 scale body for my MCPx and there are few options.

I was inspired by the paper bodies in this thread and decided to take a 3-view of an
MD-500 and develop a paper fold version. This is the first result. It fits nice and does
not effect the CG at all. Still have easy access to the battery. Looks nice flying!

I've attached the PDF with the paint scheme and just the outline for importing to Photoshop. Maybe some of you photoshop artists can develop some nice paint schemes or improve on the design. I pull the tail together at the back of the body and tape secure with some transparent tape. Now that I've done this one, I think I would "paint" the inside black or something other than white. Another idea would be to cut out the door windows and put clear acetate on the inside.

The shape is pretty much exact scale from the 3-view. If I had a taller gear/skid it would look better... maybe another mod
