It's not 2s to 14s but FMA/Revolectrix now makes a 2s to 8s single connection balance board.

http://www.usastore.revolectrix.com/...rs_2/SPA-XH_75

I just upgraded my charging box with a Dual PowerLab after using a PL8 for the last 7 years so I have yet to put the new boards through a season.

Stang Man this is the cleanest set up i have seen yet.

I not sure I made myself clear.

What I would like to see is just ONE row of pins for the balance plug and you would plug any size type of batteries to it to charge them.
Sort of like the "what do you call it" gizmo that gives me my % battery charge when I want to do a fast check of any size battery state of charge.

Some electronic wizardry would be needed I am sure.

Well, that adapter has just one row of pins (in the center) to connect just one balance connector from a battery.

The horizontal pin row on the left goes to the wire harness into the charger and the row on the right allows you to daisy chain another board for parallel charging.

It's just like the Hyperion "sentry" battery checker that gives you the voltage/approximate battery % capacity.

That's what I understood.....so which charger can do 14s out of one port?

Pulsar 3 allows up to 16S out of "one" port. It's actually a balance board you solder up with 2 x 2 sets of 8, 7 or 6S almost side by side, offset by one row to allow the edges of the balance adapters to fit. I've set mine up with both 12S and 14S. But that doesn't help for a parallel charge. It's designed to support charging up to 16S.

My bad I read your answer and did not even see the link. Yes that is exactly what I was thinking about. A nice start to streamlining a set up. I still wished it could go further up to 14S and if I could use it with my Duo4010.

None I thought, it was just wishful thinking but now I have to inquire about Raptorapture Pulsar 3 answer. Pictures please...

I must say that I am very happy at home with my two Duo4010 but the wire tangle and multi board mess was keeping me from having a portable set up. I now either rely on many batteries or a friend set up, messy wires, with who I bought a generator with.

I didn't no one either.......but the one mention, actually does 14s lipo max.....but it's probably something you will like, the spec says capabilities to balances up to 16 cells (my revo can do 8x8s so this is actually limited)....and lipo is limited to 14s

Still they have a pretty board available for 14s it's a pricy option

These are incredible.. I'm inspired to build my own now =]

I made one a while ago from two Voltz 350 Watt PSU's and one 500 Watt charger, but.. I think I'm gonna go for a monster setup, maybe 2000 Watts?

I have unlimited access to Server PSU's (they're usually 500 watts) including N2 types, so I've got tons of options for the power side of things.

I just realized this, as I typed this. Haha. Anyone need some 500 Watt PSU's?

I fly a lot of nitro and small 6s Heli's. I don't have a big electric. Lugging my charger box felt like a waste on a lot of ocassions.

I made myself a little box capable of charging 6s at 10amps. It has 4 battery hookups and it's designed for only 6s at the moment. I will add a 2s balance lead for it. It also has a USB charger.

It has a big heatsink between the charger and power supply. It has a 50mm fan drafting across the heatsink. It's surprising how much air a little fan can pull.

Things left to do are install a switch to power the power supply on and off. I think I will hook up a small led right by the battery terminals to help for charging during night flying.

It's buried in there and a pain to remove my top plate to show it. I have venting on the sides. One side has a fan and the other didn't have room, so you can kind of see the supply through the holes.

Default Post your charger case

Almost complete and ready for some Heli bashing to commence
308duo
Kicker iPod amp
Sundown audio 2.75" full range speakers
About 1500 watts with dual HP supplies
Four fans to cool
Maxed out she runs about 113 degree F
Still need to add the LED lighting and when the correct vinyl gets here I will recover the entire lexan deck

Default Post your charger case

Ive been using This for the last few months to a year. I can't leave it in my car since its my nicest rig and getting things in and out of my apartment in 3 or 4 trips is getting old.

So, I decided to build this set up. It's small enough to fit in my heli bag and def has the charging power. Even has 2 banana ports for your buddy who is too lazy to get his PSU out.

This 1170 has a HP DPS1200 inside for plenty of power.

I have also installed two 40mm fans to circulate fresh air into the bottom of the case. They are located under the 106b+.

How can the fans work, if they are covered by the charger?

I've attached small rubber feet to create enough of a gap for the necessary airflow.
