So, i was finally got round to adding the 12 and 24v mouch plugs for external use. i used the volt meter on the 24v side, well cause i had one lying around and didn't know how i was going to mark the case.

My charge box is nearing completion. Waiting on a few items from Progress RC which should be here today.

Cut out a panel for the top, Slotted it and installed 1 inch elastic to hold charge cables and keep them in easy reach.

What are the thingys top right and top left of the charger?

I assume the ones next to the fans are fan switches, but the others?

Did you put the fans so that one pushes and one pulls?

Default My Own Personal Case

Hey All.

Thougth you might like to see my charge case.
This one was experimenting with some new ideas I could look to incorporate into my customers cases if requested and also test a few more ideas I could use my laser cutter to add to my case builds.

This case uses the rather nice CiQ charging system, which sadly isn't coming to market :-( as I was part of the testing team.

The storage lid is using a spring loaded latch, so pops up when pressed to access the storage box underneath the LED edge lit logo.

The iPad has a custom design spring loaded charging lead, so on placement of the iPad in the recessed location in the lid, the charge lead automatically connects to start charging.

I have my usual AC/DC selector switch on the front of the case, USB charge ports on the left side and external DC input port on the right. Which is an XT90 mounted inside a custom 3D printed holder.

The deck mounted balance connectors are my custom Revolectrix MPA/JST-XH balance connectors, so I can use either the Revolectrix MPA boards or the cheaper balance/charge boards

As this case use's an iCharger 308DUO my IceMeter protection circuit is employed to monitor the PSU's in case one fails during the charge cycle.

Overall the setup is working very well, the only thing I've still got to change is the iPad charging power supply for a more powerful unit. As the Rpi3's usb isn't powerful enough.

I appologise for the light blurred photos, it's a little difficult to take good photographs of hte bright LED's. As and when I get some nicer photos I will update these.

My next case will be a PL8DUO & Bump controller case as a demo for the company.

Those elastic straps are a great idea. Reminds me of MOLLE. I assume you sewed them yourself?

The little black squares you see to the inside of the fans are the fan speed control switches, Low/Med/High. the toggle switches are fan on/offs. The fans are mount so that the left one pull into the case and the right one exhausts. I had them backwards the the first time around and the flow was reversed to the dirrection the power supply fan blows.

Nope!, I cheated. I got them to the length I wanted and applied 5 min epoxy to an 1 1/2 overlap on the back and clamped them. Let the glue dry and there good to go. I would have hed to sew them in place and that would have been a PITA.

Default case

I have not seen a better case built than the RC Squared cases.

Also, for lack of anything else I have re-purposed a Makita steel tool case to be used for battery storage box.

Here's my project. I still want to redesign the back plate to have elastic bands to hold all my charging adapters.

Just getting started with my case (lots of inspiration here! ) and I need some help! I am after some help from guys using the surface/panel mount red/black 4mm banana sockets...

Most of the ones that I seem to find are the insulated ones where the actual connector is quite deep down inside (say about 5-6mm).

I bought some of these: 76-1658 TENMA, Banana Test Connector, 4mm, Jack, Panel Mount, 36 A, 1 kV, Nickel Plated Contacts, Red | Farnell element14

... and my charge leads which have normal 4mm's on them do not seem long enough to reach/make good contact in the connectors. I think they are more designed for test cables where the 4mm shank is longer. The other sockets I considered buying were the Mueller ones mentioned back a bit. Do these work OK with regular 4mm's ? or does anyone know of some with the contact further up/near the surface rated 30-40A :-) If not I will go with the above surface ones! ;-)

Your average test gear 4mm bananas are only rated for 10-15A max.

Personally, I really like these for making charge leads...

New case is done... ish. I wasn't able to do exactly what I wanted as my budget is too tight to buy two SC620s at once... so one will do for now. When I am able to get a second 620, I'll make a real nice deck and do a vinyl-CF wrap.

Default Post your charger case

Here's where my latest project stands right now.

It's a Nanuk 918, 24v supply, PL6, bump controller on the way. Storage in the lid, a single 80mm fan to start with, and the other hole will have a matching grill, but will just be air outlet. If it gets too hot, I'll add a second fan and cut some new vent holes elsewhere. In the middle will be a 4x parallel balance board

It might change a little before it's all done, but should be some similar variation of my drawing. Bump controller and balance board will be flush mounted.
