I finally got into the DIR mode after reading the posts about the LED seq button release. Doing the mechanical set up I've got the swash links set at the general recommendation in the manual and when I get everything at 90 degrees my collective pitch measures +5.5 at the point where I'm mid stick position on my tx. My pitch swash AFR is -60 and it has a great range, but when I adjusted the longer linkage rods (to the rotor grip) by shortening them (a lot!) I got to zero but my pitch range was off. I know I'm doing something wrong here so any help/advice is appreciated.

What worked for me was (from recommended length links) to enter DIR mode and level the swash plate with sub-trims (your swash mix should be 50% for all three cyclic servos).
Then at 50% stick my blades were a little negative. I unscrewed the upper links about 1 full turn. They are now about one mm longer. This gave me very close to zero degrees.
Move stick to 100% and adjust pitch swash mix to give 9 or 14 degrees, depends on your taste. This is your collective setting.
Return to 50% throttle.
Now move aileron full left and adjust cyclic pitch (aileron swash mix) to 10 degrees.
Elevator swash is done for you.

Once you have it all set, with throttle at 50%, press set and your settings will be saved - you're now at E.LIM
