Receiver help
Hello all i need some help with cheaper receivers. I had a rd6000 with a corona 2.4 converson it worked great with no problems I was using the cheaper cr8d and cr6d receivers. No issues with any of them. While charging im not sure what happened but the radio wont tun on anymore. it is not the battery i have a new one and it too doesnt work. So my issue is the old reveivers are around 16 buck and are dsss.
I purchased a new radio rds8000 and it comes with a airtronics 92824 receiver which is like 80 or so dollars. This radio system is fhss and im looking for some cheaper 10 to 20 dollar range receivers. Im not sure what will work. Any help would be great Jamie |

Sorry but you're stuck with using ATX RX's. There is no aftermarket RX's available.

Thank you
Thank you for the post. i purchased one for 9 dollars i will let you know if it works.
jamie If it doesnt i think i will be replacing the onboard 2.4 with a corona 2.4 diy mod because i have too many planes to be buying 80 dollar receivers. J |

Jamie, if you are flying "park flyer" type stuff you can get the Airtronics RX60 for $49.99. If you need a full range, the RX600 is ten bucks more, or if you only need 5 channels the RX500 is also $49.99.
In my opinion, the receiver is not the right equipment to cheap out on. After all, how much is your plane or heli worth?

I too am with about the cost of Rx's. I have (2) RD6000 with (4) Rx's each, (2) DRS8000 with a total of 12 Rx's. HP had a really killer deal on a 3 pack of 6 channel Rx's so I picked a few packs up and one of the guys on helifreak sent me, FREE of charge a 8 channel Rx
What drives me crazy, is I put together a foam plane for $1.00 worth of foam, (3) $2.50 servo's, $9.00 motor, $11.00 ESC and a $90.00 RX!!!!!!!!! So, what I have come up with is a budget radio that uses the $9.00 Rx's for my cheapy planes. It is the Turnigy 9x from Hobby King. It goes for $80.00 to my door, I can get the Rx's from Hobbyparts for $9.00. Now, I will not use the Turnigy for much over a 2 pound plane and I will not even think about using it for my helicopters. I trust my RD6000 and RDS8000's without question. I will use my Airtronics for any model that I want to make sure does not get taken out by radio failure. I will not be to upset about a dollars worth of foam going in. By spending the cost of a couple Rx's, I have a radio and 10 Rx's for the low end of my fleet. Just my opinion. Buzz. |
