So most stores had the main gear backordered, so I bought a few B400 main gear w/ one-way bearing. It was listed as B400/B450. Anyway, it works perfectly.

Bummer, I wonder when or if anyone is going to come out with a carbon frame for the 450?

Can't wait for that to happen...

That's the only thing on my heli that makes it look like a beginner heli...

I apologize if this has been covered; will the 450 head fit on the 400?

Hi guys. I have the blade 400 and is difficult for me to learn collective pitch heli because of the servos and gyro. What is good to do?
3 choices for me:
1. - to put the electronics from the blade 450 (cheap way, for a beginner)
2. - to buy different servos and gyro (ds287mg, 290t, gy401, saving some money)
3.- to buy the stock blade 450 bnf (the 2 and 3 choices are almost at the same amount of money)

Thank you guys for all the things that all of you are writing here! Me and all the others we learn from you!
Thank you again!

Option 4:

Get used parts on the for sale section and get a GY401 + decent tail servo.

+1 - That's what I've done, along with some great advice from HF.

Ok, thank you v. much!
If i make a investment why not to be a good and forever one, no? (exept flybarless, if i decide to go for it i know that the gyro is replaced)

Has anyone done the complete conversion? I have a pretty well set up B400 (good servos, GY401, 35A ESC, Futaba tail servo, etc, etc)

Thinking it may be cheaper to just buy the frame and new parts to build the 450. (Just haven't added up the cost on all the parts). Curious if it actually does come out better by more than $100 to do it. For now, my B400 is dialed in nicely - I do like the head and tail setup better on the B450 though. Maybe after my next crash.....

Thought this would be helpful - I just put a B450 head on my B400. Below are all of the needed parts for the whole B450 head assembly. All in, the needed B450 parts (today's cost) are $90.40 from Horizon. The rest of the parts are compatible with your existing B400 parts. (Note - I didn't pay that much - I got mine off of e-bay for $30 mostly complete )

The existing main gear (the black ones) are compatible with the shaft - no problems there at all.

As for flying - I only have 2 flights (still dialing it in), but the slop in the head/grips is almost completely gone with the 450 head. It flies better and tracking is spot on. The vibration that is notorious in the B400 appears to be gone too (so far at least).

Default 400 Microheli main gears

Will the 400 Microheli main gears fit tha 450 and are they any better than the ones that already come on the 450? I've heard the stock 400 gears suck.
I'm upgrading the motor and esc on my 450 to and Scorpion 2221-6 and a Castle Ice 50 and was wondering what the week links are and what other mods should be made when using the new motor combo?
Thanks

I just bought a Blade 400 tail belt as the EFLH1456 but I know the 450 belt is Tail Drive Belt [BLH1656]. i assumed if the 450 belt fits both the 450 & 400 as noted here the 400 belt should be okay for the 450?

Does anyone know if I'm correct in the assumption? I'm going to look them both over closely to see if there are any differences....

Default jesus bolt

Will the jesus bolt and nut from the blade 400 fit the 450 head assembly?I got a used 450 head but no jesus bolt and, from what I'v seen , it only comes with the aluminum head, I dont see the jesus bolt and nut seperately. Also which dampers are softer the black or the blue ones ?

You could buy the BLH1649 (One-Way Bearing Shaft and Shim Set:
B450, B400) it use the same bolt and much cheaper
