The grips and head block are different between the 400 & 450. not sure about the tail case. And the 450 already has an aluminum head block installed. If your looking for a color change, have them anodized to your liking or strip them and paint yourself.

Does anyone know the diameter of the main shaft? Can I put an Align DFC head on a Blade 450?

I believe the main shaft is 5mm in diameter. I have read of people using a tarot fbl head on the 450, only about $30. When I crash mine and need head parts thats the route I will probably go.

Default Ok BUT

I have my Blade 400, I have bought all the parts and put them together. I can get 9 degrees positive pitch on the blades at full throttle, zero at half throttle, but only 2 degrees negative pitch at no throttle, I need 10 according to E-Flite. I am guessing that I have some linkages wrong but which ones. I have used the settings found in the Blade 400 BNF manual, I think that I have the Washout Base Mixing Arm to paddle control lengths wrong, I have them set to 33.90mm, any clues? A full set of linkage setting would be more than helpful.

Hi AussieRobbie ,

Take a look on page 22 of the Blade 400 PNP manual
for linkage lengths

Default They are different Rolf

Rolf, the book says it should be 33.90mm but this doesn't work, it throws everything out. The paddle control frame is different from the 400 to the 450. On the 450, the links are not adjustable, I found this out and a friend who has one measured them and the length is 30.50mm. Thanks anyway.

Are you checking this in normal mode, or in Idle Up? The default pitch curves only give you -2* of pitch in normal mode. You need to flip to IU and check your curves. Make sure you disconnect your motor before doing this!

Is $50 dollars a fair price for a used flyable Blade 400?

I expect to use the for spares for a Blade 450x.

Is that OK?

Thanks

Sounds quite reasonable especially if it includes shipping. The ones I've seen sold here usually go for $75-$99.
