I'd definitely scrap the canopy since the tip of the nose is trashed. It's not even worth keeping as a beater IMO.

I had an almost crash last Sunday with my Atom 500. I was practicing inverted banked turns and lost orientation. I must have thrashed the heli around for a good 10 seconds before I finally recovered it. The biggest part of the problem was that I forgot to put my sunglasses on; they make a tremendous difference in clarity.

Sorry to hear about your crash. I've had one that bad with my Atom and can sympathize.

Sorry your ship went in, Sly.

Been there, done that, unfortunately.

I am sure you will have it rebuilt and flying in no time, sir.

Sly,

Sometimes these things go a bit easier (or, at least seem a bit easier) if you stock up on parts, a bit at a time, in advance. When I order parts, I order a spare boom here, a spare gear there, a spindle, a landing gear strut, etc.

Most of the time, I have the parts to fix my Compass machines on hand, should something ugly happen. If I don't have all the parts on hand, the financial impact is still less, if I don't have to buy a lot of parts.

(all of which reminds me that I should pick up a set of side frames for the Atom and the 6HV for spares).

One can take this a bit too far (I still have several new canopies and windshields for Hirobo Falcon 808's I have had since the early 1980's).

I do have a resonnable amount of spare parts but I don't have frames or canopies.
Some parts in this crash I do not have anymore.

When you get the new frames, don't throw away the broken ones. I find them handy for making patches or reinforcements for the area of the frame under the battery tray.

of your earlier posts to do so.

You really didn't bother to do that half-arsed, did you? You went all the way!

Man, that's painful to look at.

No worries, Sylvain. I have you covered, buddy.

WOW Sly - you really did a job to it.

I suggest you repair the canopy like I do (I tell people its just for my poor vision - and it is - but its really to hold the canopy together).

The new canopy is really cool - you will like it.

TallPaul, your histericle, you know that.

Don't need another heli, I need to get a life
besides helis, that's what I need.

I'll start with this...
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
and the courage to change the things that I can.

Dam.. You did go in hard..

With a bit of epoxy (actually probably a fair bit in your case) you could make the canopy solid and flyable again. If you have any decals/stickers sitting around they can be used to cover up some of the cracks..

Has far as decalls go, I only have Castle decalls.
Bad enough I don't fly right, I don't want the canopy
to go up in flames.

(I know that's un-called for)
