Default just got my new MB, but it is V2.0

I want to update the MB to 3.0, I just received it and have ot installed it.

I have the USB dongle.

I downloaded the Beatx x app release 1 3 006 1 zip....is this the firmware to update the MB?

I also downloaded thee Micro setting WIN file.

I see there is a third download called Beast X update bundle, is the to update to 3.0?

I am confused.

1. the USB dongle is not recognised. how do I fix this.
2. once I get the dongle to work where do I connect the cable on the MB, do I use SYS?
3. once i get the cable connected how do I update the MB?

I am a little frustrated at the lack of instructions on this first step, your help will be much appreciated.

I put the lead into the System space.
I believe you have to power up the beast in order for it to be recognized. After I did that to mine, hit refresh and it should recognize it. I just did mine last night.

you need to down load the updater to do it! Also there are no pc micro settings for V3 yet. It will be new software coming sometime so you cant use the micro settings you downloaded on V3 but V3 has presets for this now.

OK so If I give 5 V to the beast x anywhere on the +/- rail and connect the USB to the SYS port I should be good...correct?

Well short of hooking every thing up, to be safe I would use the ELE/DI1 or AIL/CH5 ports to hook up power as these would be the ports used to get power from a stand alone rx

No.

Check page 18 of the manual. It states NOT to use the slot next to the Sys channel to connect power. This is the one where it says AUX | PIT | RUD and DI2 | CH7 | CH6.

Step by step guide here http://www.beastx.com/showthread.php...r-Step-by-Step

The manual says you can supply power through any of the servo channel ports 1-5 if the Sys port is in use.... Just don't use the other AUX/PIT/RUD one.

Thanks guys,

I will read the manual once I start the actual setup. The update process was a bit of a mystery, but all is now done.

Thanks again.
