When I use a seperate BEC I add a deans micro between the main bat. plug and the BEC. For what ever reason I soldered the plug on wrong and didn't notice, cooked my $45 BEC, 3 $50 S3155's, a $50 S9257, $140 GY401, and my $100 JR770 RX. $500 gone in the blink of the eye

We use LiPos in our cell phones but I've never heard of a phone blowing up.

I once took me Trex 450 out of throttle hold on my kitchen counter (while setting pitch) and nearly lost a finger and made some nice gouges in the counter top, as well as a blade stuck into our leather sofa. My wife wasn't too happy.

That's because phones use Li-Ion batteries, NOT LiPo.

Unwittingly plugged in on wrong model memory, ESC didn't arm as it didn't see zero throttle, assumed it was broke, drove home swearing at Castle, realised my mistake on the bench, then thanked castle for that safety feature

Roger that. I go even further - once my friend I'm flying with starts packing his stuff, I'm done flying the helis. It's the "just one more flight" thing that gets you. As we all know, 100% of serious heli crashes occur during the last flight of the day*

* Obviously, if it's crashed, you can't fly it anymore, making it the final flight

"did a beautiful soldering job for my new lipos the other day. Then when I was about to push the bullet into the EC3 housing I noticed a problem..."

... that you have to put the housing on the wire first... gets me every time.

Crashed the 400, checked it over decided to fly again without really checking all the fasteners and... crashed on take off with a helicopter that really didn't want to fly because one bolt had worked loose. Don't crash and fly, really bad idea.

I did the same thing (without crashing) when I first tried to maiden my mini titan a couple weeks ago, I'm so used to to trex style swash movement; swash goes up for + pitch. Mini titan is the opposite, went from low to 3/4 stick 3 times before the bulb above my head lit up!

Actually with EC3s you solder the bullet on first then push it into the housing. No what I did was stupider: I soldered the wire to the wrong end.

No, on some EC3s you pull the connector in from the front instead of pushing from the back.

When i watched the Eflite instructional video on how to solder EC3's they pushed the bullets into the back of the connector.

But I think the Losi ones go in from the front.
