I waiting for the guy who confesses to confusing a glowplug(igniter) with a buttplug.

Now that would be funny.

Can imagine him saying, "Whew is it hot in here all of a sudden?"

Thought of another mistake when starting out. Very first Lipo with for my 450. While preparing to solder a connector on the battery leads, I cut both wires at the same time with some dykes. Afterward I realized, dang that was stupid. Surprisingly, after almost a year the battery still works till this day.

And cell phones don't pull 100 amps nor do they charge at 10-20 amps.

Also the current draw on a phone or laptop is not even close to a heli.

I have loaded up all my stuff, helis packs chargers and even the generator and gotten to the field only to discover I left the damn TX charging on my work bench. This has happened so far 3 times that I can remember well, maybe more.

Other thing, back when there was impound, leaving my TX at the field after flying for a day or weekend. Especially at Black Sheep where the impound was inside a shed not easily seen unless you went in.

Was in the middle of soldering and surprise! Welded the wires to the soldering iron. Fortunately I was quick with the dikes and cut the negative away.

Yup this is correct. Lipos are all around us. But most electronics are inclosed and contained circuits and we don't "tinker" with them. Our hobby is different where we are working with open live circuits at a larger scale. Any slight move and game over. Be safe

I've done it when I used to race rc cars.

I've also done a similar thing with my heli, went to a field without any lipos (left them at home by the charger), just borrowed some off my dad when we got there.

Last year (IRCHA 2010) about 40 miles out on the way to IRCHA, I remembered I forgot my starter. Then, when I opened the trunk I found I forgot fuel.

Then two weeks ago, I had a problem with my engine...it wouldn't start at the normal idle position I use, so I upped it and upped it and upped it. Hot start. Burned up the clutch, burned my hand, cut my other hand, and cut my leg. All that in the time it took me to hit the kill switch on my radio. I'll also never start the thing from the pipe side, again.
