Same here. And it's always a clean solder when the shrink isn't there. Unsolder it , shrink it, and then struggle with a clean solder..

Diconected my lipo from the charger pulled out the bullet connectors with the battery still attached! It freaked me out!
Just got a new heli was not finished with it was seting it up till 4 in the morn, tired, drunk, i bumped the thottle stick when i went to grab it! Spooled up full throttle strait into my thumb! Bent the hell out of the fly bar, burnt up all cyclic servos, and striped my main gear! I got so pissed told my wife i was done with it put it up took it back dow the next day fixed everything! So addicting but i like it

A couple of weeks ago, I spooled up my 6HV on the bench (no main blades, tail pushrod disconnected) with the spark arrestor lead connected but the main power lead inadvertently disconnected. By the time I smelled the smoke, the heat shrink tubing over the spark arrestor resistor had burned off and the resistor was glowing. The resistor cooled down without any apparent damage. Resistance still measured the same as before and I've done 10 flights since.

Count me in for twice leaving my TX on...

I once left my DX6i on the roof of the car and started driving out the driveway. Stopped to check for cars on the road and WACK it falls to the ground. Damage was thankfully minimal, just needed a new aerial (just busted hinge, transmitted fine) and a switch was a little bent but functional.

Have never left my transmitter on the roof of the car, but I left my transmitter on today. I had to stop flying to care it up again...

Had a perfectly good flying helicopter...

Decided..."hey, I need to mod my engine"

Mods went well...Broke the damn piston ring putting it back together...

No more flyable heli...

Order new ring, install, Second tank after that...Rear bearing decides it's going on permanent vacation and taking the piston and ring with it...

Order new bearings, new piston, another new ring. Install bearings...check, install piston...check, Install ring...No check...broke another one... the exact same way as the first...

Order ANOTHER ring...VERY carefully install...all is good

Second tank of re-break in...Thumb slips on collective while switching flight modes... Heli SLAMS into the grond at mach freaking 6 and proceeds to self destruct...:arg gg:

And hear I sit, no flyable heli...Because I couldn't leave well enough alone...

If it ain't broke...DON'T FIX IT!!!!

I had a cx2 the swash would always come appart, so i would squeeze it back together! Well one day i decided to fly in my back yard when i just put up a pop up pool. Well long story short swash came appart blade stike then bottom of the pool! Should have bought a new swash! If you guys dont know yet, if that happens to you get some purified water with no minerals or additives in it wash the electronics and get some alchol the highest grade you can find and dunk it under that! It will pull the water off the electronics and dry it out quick! I was running around like a mad man looking for high grade and only foun regular so i used it and it worked!

Yup...It's been a frustrating month. Pretty much all of that is due to me going back to working nights, than working on my heli dead ass tired... Not a good mix.

On the bright side I finally picked up a set of Compass 615 mains to try out. They arrived the day after the crash. Thank god, I would have been really really choked had they come the day before and got wasted with such a bone head crash.

Damage report

Mains, tails, flybar and paddles
Main shaft, tail shaft and feathering shaft
Tail hub, tail blade grips
Complete landing gear, along with my Push Glo (Just installed, first use)
Boom and supports
Mixxing arm and a couple links
Receiver tray
And a big ol' battle wound on my pipe
Havn't gone through the bearings yet but I'm counting on at least some of those too.
Pride (and joy)

Engine is "A" okay though.......

Ah well... Live and learn right ()

Another guilty. I've had to send one of my DX7s in for reprogramming twice because of it.

Interesting, the tx programming can be corrupted if the batteries run dry? I would have thought that its all on flash ram and would just reset itself when you put a new battery in.
