Default Removing the thrust bearings from main blade grip

Anyone else have a difficult time removing the thrust bearings from the main blade grips?

Heat up the grip with a lighter and it will be much easier to remove. Same with putting them back. Just use a rag or something to hold the grip in order not to burn yourself.

Mine actually came out super easy.. But I agree with Vlad , heat it up or even use a heat gun.

Also you might want to back out the arms on the grips first, the drilled out holes in the grips were a bit rough, and that could be what is making it tough for anything to come out of the grip

That one is harder if you don't have the special spindle tool. But try to apply some heat to the feathering shaft and try to move it to see if it gives. Otherwise you can probably pickup an Align 8mm/10mm spindle tool at your LHS. Or Amain Hobbies carries G-force tool which is the one I bought. I've scratched up enough spindles and the tool is golden to have in your tool box.

I used a quick grip bar clamp to get my spindle moving, I also put a little silicone oil on the spindle and once that was through the first damper it slid a lot easier.

I picked up a spindle tool as well, much easier...however since you dont have one get 2 pieces of wood. Drill a hole in one big enough for the spindle but not the head. Put some grease on the side thats not in the hole and then use the other block to push it through. I had to brace mine between 2 buckets and put everything I had into it...multiple times, but it will come free.

I got this one http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...1-Spindle-Tool

has 4,6,8 and 10mm holes and doesn't use one way bearings.
