Cool Nexgen's Chaos 450....flybarred (whaaa?)

Yup that's right, Nex is rocking a fly bar. Im just taking it back to the old school, lol. read on

After talking with Bryan on the show, and catching up on old times I was intrigued by the Chaos movement so I decided to pick one up for myself. I have to say the quality is good, and the fit and finish is spot on, no need to file or mod to make things work. The canopy is also very nice; sturdy, good paint job, clean lines. The only thing I have put on here that is not stock in the super combo is the ESC. I opted to use my Ice lite 50 so I could datalog, and also because of the size I could install it where I wanted to. I like the Gyro, it holds the tail well, nuff said. The programming reminds me of the BeastX, so it was a familiar way for me to set it up. There are more features in this gyro than I expected. The servos are by all rights re brands of the 410's and 520 for the tail, which are re branded Savox servos. These servos are performing well; they are smooth, strong, and center well. Staying true to form, the wiring job is fairly sano. If any of you have seen my other builds you know that electronics installation takes me the longest as I am fairly picky about component placement and wiring. There is room for improvement, but I wanted to get it up as quickly as I could, so slimming and trimming will have to wait.

I have a couple flights on her now (no vid yet sorry) and it is going well. The Scorpion motor, a 13t pinion and governed at 3660 and this puppy pulls!! I almost forgot what its like to fly a flybar, but I have to say I have this bird setup for +-14º collective, and +- 8º cyclic and there is no binding in the head. The roll rate is phenomenal, even with the flybar. It reminds me of my tiny Gaui 200, and im sure the included CF paddles and Blades have something to do with it, hehe. I'm going to have LOTS of fun flying this little thing around.

I have to say a guy gets lots of bird for the $299 combo price tag, well worth the money in my opinion.

And now for some heli porn
(you can click the thumbnails for larger versions)

(oh and btw, that orange ziptie is not touching the motor, just looks like it, hehe)

Clean build Rob, looks real nice. I don't like how the swash links are all threaded rod.

What's the deal with the phoenixtech motor with the Scorpion logo? Am I to believe it is a re-branded Scorpion?

From my conversations with Cliff and some additional research, I am believeing the 600 and 700 supercombo motors are rebranded Hackers. They are great motors I flew the snot out of my 600 until I took it to 10s.

Bryan,

Can you guys give more info on your site to describe what comes with all the super combos. I have a co worker that is interested in the 700 E super combo, but what electronics come with it?

Do you guys have a 700E FBL "super" combo that would or could come with everything except the FBL controller?

Bryan,
Honestly the best thing to do is call Cliff or Rob and ask them the technical specs of the kits. With the upcoming chances to the servos on some of the kits, I wouldn't want to speak out of place and state a wrong servo or spec for a component.

The best thing about RCA is that if you want a tailored package for your individual needs it is easily done.

Bryan
I would call Cliff as the 700E's are going through a revision upgrade. I have posted the specs of the servos on the 600 thread, which is what I have on mine, however I believe they have been upgraded.
