What about these rotortechs
So I have 609mm rototechs on the bird now. Never flown rototechs before and really wanna sell them and put some radix 625v2s. Do yall think that I could make a good chunk off the blades? Blades are flawless or do they fly ok. I want super fast cyclic control (running flybarred)

What do the Rotortech's weigh compared to Radix? As the Rotortech's are shorter, I would expect them to give faster cyclics than the longer Radix, but weight also plays a difference.
In essence: Shorter, lighter blades = faster cyclics, less stability in FFF, less energy in autorotation. Longer, heavier blades = slower cyclics, more stability in FFF, more energy in autorotation.

Never really looked at the specs and I agree and understand your reasoning. Apparantly they seem to be a pretty popular blade but are definitely ugly IMO. I'll compare and contrast specs I guess

They have the lightest, quickest 690 blades I could find and really like them. Try them before condemning them, especially if you like quick cyclic.

The Rotor Tech's have been my favorite blades for awhile now.
I have found after using many blades that weight is not the only criteria t determine performance. I think where the weight is placed - further inboard or outboard on the span and/or further forwarard or rearward on the chord) effects the performance more then a few grams of weight difference. The airfoil and tip shap also have a great influence on that performance and the ones used on the RT's seem to work very well. I think you should try them. You may find you really like them, just as I did. |

An additional "spec comparing tip" after reading post #5 :
If it's marketed as a 3D blade, the chordwise CG is usually more forward, This also goes for narrow chord blades. Therefore, in general, a blade with comparable narrow chord is more agile than a wider chord.
