Default Buying a new ELY Q Vision 50 Compition

Hi guys

I will be purchasing a new heli for my christmas. Been out the sport for 6yrs. Now got the bug again.

Anyway really keen on buying an ELY Q Vision 50 comp. Looks a sweet as heli and the preformance looks epic. I do have a few questions that do concern me they are as follows:

1) I have heard the linkages are very poor quality has this been sorted on the V2?
2) Issue's with the tail case (Very week) ?
3)swash plate does not allow full travel on the elevator (Binding)?

I know about the gyro mount and the frame brace below the frames. These dont bother me as i would purchase these if they did not come with the kit.

These are the main three points i have picked up from various threads. However some of it i find very hard to beleave.

Your help on these points would be much appreciated

I just finished my build of the Vision Competition. This was my first nitro build and my first build from bags of parts. My other helis were ARF type electric 450 and 500's.

Only a couple minor issues with the build. The boom that came with my kit was aluminum, which I think is good. But it appears to be a little small, or the boom clamp a little big. I couldn't get it to tighten down. I wrapped a layer of tape around the boom and then was able to tighten it.

You should install the elevator servo before joining the frames. I could not get my Hitec servo in the opening afterward. I ended up taking the servo case apart to install properly. With all the balls on the inside of the horns, my geometry is perfect. Initial setup I had 13 degrees +/- collective and 11 degrees cyclic with no binding in any of the corners. I have since dialed it down to 10 collective and 8 cyclic.

The new links with the kit seem ok. But...I found it odd that the Ely.Q logo stripes face inward when installed. I guess thats the way to tell v1 from v2? Along with the thicker size of course.

I also purchased the gyro mount and frame stiffeners. Although I only got the stiffeners because they were on closeout from amainhobbies. $30 for the one stiffener is outrageous for what it is. Hell, it should be included in the kit if its that important.

I am running a Thunder Tiger .53 in it. Hopefully maiden tomorrow if it warms up a little bit. Only going to be upper 30's f.

Cheers!

You won't regret your purchase that is for sure.

Keep us posted with a flight report.

The initial issues with the first version were addressed with the second.

You will love this helicopter. Now if you show any signs of vibration 99 percent of the time its in the motor/clutch alignment keep that in mind guys
