Default freya ex hub runout problem

i have a freya with ys80 using a ex blue hub on a plastic fan, i am using a woodruff key, when the fan is seated down, the runout is at .002, but when i slowly tighten down little at a time, the runout gets worse up .006, which is unacceptable, since the inner hub is slotted to fit the key, changing the hub position is not able to done. i have rotated the flanged washer prior to the nut in different position, the best came out to .005, any ideas what i can do to improve the runout, or just buy a new hub, the crankshaft runout is almost perfect. thanks. any advice would be appreciated. tony..

What I have been doing is placing a small sliver of tin foil underneath the hub. I wish someone would create a dual split collar retro. for this machine.

I would email Jeff Green on this one. I've had that same issue when helping a friend with his Freya, and you're left pretty helpless on how to improve matters. I'm sure Jeff will be helpful, and I would be interested to hear what he has to say. Hirobo isn't the only mfg that is either using or considering the use of a keyed hub.

BTW, do check the runout of the crankshaft. YS's are generally VERY good. My last measured at less than 0.00025", almost undetectable.

If you can't get it dialed in to your satisfaction, Jeff will probably offer to have you send it to him and he will do it for you as I've seen him offer in other posts.
