I would try Futaba setting. Also way back when I had this gyro I did not find those setting really did anything... At least that is what I recall.

Hello Guys, I have a question about a weird behavior that i am seeing when i set this gyro up. I appologise if somebody has asked this before, but i didnt see anything when I quickly went through the previous 27 pages.

After setting up the gyro per finless's videos, i see that when i move the rudder stick on the controller with the gyro in rate mode (at 50% gain) the servo hits its endpoints way before the sitck is moved full travel. I hit both ends of travel on the rudder servo with about 50% throw of the control stick. Is this correct? At 1% gain in rate mode, behavior is much better and it takes almost full stick deflection to equal full rudder travel. Is this behavior normal? It worrys me because even with 75% exponential at 50% gain in rate mode, it looks like the tail will be way too hard to control since it moves so quickly.

Thanks for your help!

What you are seeing is absolutely normal for most heading hold gyros.

Are you sure you are not in heading lock mode?

No, I am definatly in rate mode when this is happening. In heading hold mode the servo doesnt center after the stick is centered, but i know this is normal for HH Mode.

just seems weird to me that half of the stick deflection is basically "wasted" in rate mode at 50% gain, but as long as this is normal then its fine with me.
