Default Servo Installation

Hopefully this is a quick question. Last night I finished building the head and frame of my 3gx v2. I am now beginning the servo installation and have a few reservations about what is the best way to go about installing these. As far as zeroing out the servos, is it worth waiting to install the servo arms until the electronic setup? Any general advice relating to this part of the build would be really helpful. Thanks in advance,

Ryan.

The nice thing about the 550 is the servos are easily accessible, so installing the servos first would be fine and then when you get power to them, you can center them up and install the horns and do the setup.

Its not critical, plenty of space although the rudder servo is best centred prior to installation so you may as well just plug em all in and get the servo arms centred and screwed on, doesnt take 10 mins especially if you have a rx battery pack. Worked for me.

Yep that's the way i do it. Just hook them all up to your receiver before you install them. Be sure your transmitter is programmed correctly. Switch to idle up and center your throttle stick. Then put on all servo arms in 90 degrees and you're done best you sort out your reversing before you put the arms on.

BTW, before you install the servo arms, you may want to consider using hex screws http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Head-Screws-10 instead of the supplied phillips screws.

Don't forget to loctie the servo horn screw. A buddy crashed last weekend because one of the servo screws came off in flight.

Happy flying
