Default Scary

Scary how costs mount up. Just priced up what it would cost me if I lost my main heli to damage or theft. Didn't realise just how costly this upgrading lark can be.

Basic SE kit £230
ICE 50 £85
Scorpion 2221-8 £40
High Tail £60
CF blades £30
DX6i + AR6200 £130
Lighting Rig £60
Gyro £40
Landing gear £20
HS65MG x3 £60
Canomod canopy £40
Total £795

Basic conversion £ to $ makes it about $1,100. For a 450???

Replace HS65MG with Ds95 which I, luckily, snatched for £40 per piece not over £55 they are now, DX8 with telemetry (TM module not on MT), µBeast...

But I didn't go with fancy canopy (they get broken in crashes), expensive blades ($8 335mm HK ones work for me quite well) and still use Align's 35A ESC (~£35). Still it is only - £40(canopy) - £50(ESC difference) - £20(blades) but + £110 gyro + £60 for servos (and S9650 on the tail so another £40-ish extra) and we're around the same...

I still remember that my original kit with HS56s and TT motor/ESC, Gy401 and s9650 was around £650 6 years ago... So, prices didn't go that much down.

Wow that's quite interesting sum up. Good to know all this.
Before getting upgrades i went and got me X50 nitro kit. I think it's better to have more helis rather than one tuned up.
But i have no doubts that when i actually learn to fly, i may change the opinion. I run pretty much on stock setup on MT and his bigger brother will be more or less also stock stuff. I think i should get some HK replacement parts for things that can be replaced by that way (blades only i think).
