I purchased a OS 50SX Hyper from a fellow here on HF. I put new bearings in it and a new ring. So, I guess I'll move into the 50 arena soon. I also got the DS610s in the mail yesterday and it looks like it is gonna rain all weekend so I'll have myself something to do.

The front bearing for the engine is sealed on both sides, the one I took out was open on the side pointing towards the engine. Should I have tried to take the inside seal out of the new bearing or leave it.

most sealed bearings are already lubed and intended for the life of the bearing so don't remove it.

Thanks KC, I still have a ways to go before I implement the 50. I got to get a muffler, the 50 upgrade kit, and a set of 600mm carbon fiber blades. I have a shop mount set up for engine so all I need to test the engine is the muffler so I can crank it up and set the mixes before I put it on the helicopter.

Anywaz. I am going FBL on both those helis this coming week.. Have everything purchased just waiting now..

And tr kc has already given that advice, but just saying Rc bearings sealed bearings last much much longer than os ones and are well lubed. They are sealed to last longer..

I don't know if you have tried Rc-bearings website before!! More than worth it!

On my vibe I am keeping it good., lol
Itll have rjx head with micro beastx .

On my century .50 (kinetic) I will be converting its head to FBL , and putting it on tarot zyx.

After this I will also convert the present head of the vibe to a flybarless. There is a very easy method to convert heads with bell mixers to FBL. All it costs is 30 bucks.. Lol. And it's tested.. So I am crossing my fingers!

Receiver in both ar6200..

Cool, Gaba, I found me a MP5 practically new with gasket and bolts for $40 shipped. Should be here by weds next week. Does your helis have mCCPM or eCCPM?

Today I put the three DS610's on and I ordered a DS650. Gonna put the 650 on the tail and the 620 on the throttle. It's yukky outside. If it clears a tiny bit I'm gonna test the 610's out.

I guess I need to go back through the setup...

I guess since I put new bearings and a ring in the OS 50 I need to give it a run in period?
I fired it up on my bench today and it purrs like a kitty, even without a muffler. I run it idle for about 30 secs and then let it die. So far it appears that it is going to run without issues and it is not leaking any where. I'm still thinking about new gasket set though.

If its not leaking you'll be good

And yes break it in. New ring means break in .. Bearings don't need that.

Took it out today a ran a tank through it. The tail seems to be creeping to the left. I turned the gain up to 80% and it still creeps. I may have it to high but it dont wag. Also I noticed the head is wobbling a little I've never crashed so I don't think it's the main shaft bent .. Outside of that it flies awesome ..

turn the tail lock gain down (parameter D, take it from the default Medium, to Low)

A creepy tail it usually high frequency vibration.

Might be able to cure it using a different tape, another layer of tape, or a metal plate between two layers of tape.

Sorry to chime in so late here. The bearing should be "shielded", not sealed. Having the inner shield removed doesn't hurt anything but isn't at all necessary.

Yes, seems the front bearings come in both varieties. Some mistakenly believe they have sealed bearings when in fact they are only shielded.
