How to choose the right size BEC?
I am shopping for a bec and am trying to figure out how many amps i really need. I am running 6s with the following components:
Savox SH-1250mg x 3 Savox SH-1290mg (tail) Vbar/w 2 Specktrum remotes These are currently fitted on a Mikado Logo 400se. I understand that you need to look at amp draw on the components of the system. That being said, the highest amp draw listed from the manufacturer is as follows: Cyclic (stalled-locked): 1A x 3 = 3A Tail (stalled-locked): 3A FBL/RX: 80-100 ma ----------------------------------------- Total: 6.1A Given this information, would a BEC rated at 5A constant/10A peak be enough? Under what circumstances/how often would my servos be stalled/locked, drawing max amps? The BECs I am currently considering: Western Robotics Hercules High Current (5/10A) Western Robotics Hercules Super Mini G2 (10/20A) Gryphon Hyper (7/15A) Castle Creations Pro (??/20) Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |
