Toolstick base is in. I've decided to see if I can whip up a pogo pin setup for the XP-7A, like a little ring that I can slide around the ESC if I want to reprog later, but not have to leave dangling wires.

I just find out the Silabs F330 is using the 8051 instructions which I know
a little bit about. I use to write some 8051 code for EZUSB chips in some
other projects.

Excellent! Thank you!

Hope that helps. I've ordered from Mouser before (power regulator for my 2S conversion). They ship cheap (USPS) or fast, your choice!

Cheers,
I get $20 for shipping to Canada. I can't seem to find shipping options. How/d you get cheap shipping?

Once you go to confirm the order, but before you actually pay, you can select a variety of shipping options, the cheapest of which is USPS standard (untraced) mail, for $8. The twenty dollar is just their initial preferred method.

Thanks for listing another option. But for $8, I got FedEx next day for my shipment from digi-key. Ordered it amoung other stuff a couple hours ago and should get my toolstick tomorrow by noon. Yay! Still need to wait for my XP ESCs from HobbyKing though.

I'm using a spin 16300 with an 8T pinion and HP03T old. I tried it with 2 different hp03T old (12 magnets). Also, I rewound one of them 10 turns wye. Which is pretty much identical to the original winding. I have the pitch set to 75% and throttle in idle up to 70%. The boom is 140mm with a plantraco (balanced). It is very stable in hover. I am getting TBO when pitch pumping only sometimes. I'm using the inverted signal for both the tail and main with the fets removed for both. I wonder if i'm doing something wrong. It is working fine on the hp05.

I wonder if changing the tail to use the signal off of the resistor in the back would help this at all. I'll try playing around with some of the settings some more on the tail.

Anybody have successfully used the brushless tail with a spin 16300 with an hp03T old (I tried a rewound hp03T new 6 magnet and it has the same blowout).

UPDATE: Just test it with the signal from the resistor and doesn't blow out as often in pitch pumps. There's probably something else wrong with the heli probably the battery is shaking around in the holder or something.

Default BlHeli Setup Application 2.0.0.1 Beta for Windows

This App is developed with WinXP but runs hopefully with other Windows versions.
It can flash the hex files and gives some hints on what will be changed and what should not (BESC Layout..).
It uses the dll's provided bei Sliabs to access the toolstick.
It can program the parameters, which can be programmed with the TX.
It can give flash names for every BESC, will accept files Drag and dropped onto (ini and hex), it can save the settings to inifiles....
Simply try and enjoy...
It's free of charge for non-commercial use.
Warning!!!: This is Beta stuff, it may contain Errors...No warranty, No guarantees !!!
Please let me know, if you find Errors...

It's in the .zip containing all the Hex files for every ESC. You have to choose which file you want to use after you unzip. They are all labeled accordingly.

4712 that is awesome. Ill give that a try when I do my next flash. The TX method takes forever...Your application basically makes it like Castle Link for Castle ESC's. Very nice!

O.K. I may have a stupid question but I have to ask. How can I caluculate what the headspeed is at a cetain flat throttle curve? I have a Spin 16,300 motor, flashed XP7A and my IU2 TC is 85% flat. I just need to know what the formula is for calculating the various percentages.

There is a spreadsheet in post #2 that shows the relationship: https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...13&postcount=2
85% on a 6pole motor (probably the spin 16k is too) and an 8T pinion is about 6000rpm.

You have to use rudder stick right and left instead of throttle up and down. But now that the BLHeli Setup app is out, you might want to use that instead

You guys are awesome!!! Thank you very much!

PS. My Toolstick and replacement FETs from digi-key just came in at 11:58am (the $8 FedEx overnite shipping always comes in within 5 minutes of noon). The toolstick base adaptor comes in a pretty nice-looking clear-plastic case, so nice I don't want to open it but to rig up a PCB to plug into the slot instead. Still need to wait for my ESCs from HobbyKing. So tempted to hook up to 1 of my various versions of Hawk-RC ESCs (Oversky) to see if the pin is still indeed disabled. Time to fix my dead hp03 (not hp03t) and see if I can get it working as tail motor.
