I guess: Yes and no. It is not a matter of Firmware, but if You add a resitor at the motor port it should run with V2 boards at least.
I'm not quite sure about the effects that might occur in the governer mode, because the throttle curve will not be linear anymore. V1 Board are very unlinear, because of the much higher Frequency at the PWM output.

Matt Bockman prototype motor (same size as the C05M) 8 tooth, AEO tail motor (out of a geared setup) RRC 65mm prop. XP-7A/DP3A with BLheli code. Main at 100% throttle. Oversky 300Mah 35C with MCPx connector AUW 47.4 grams near 4 minute flights...

This shows the arming sequence for the BLheli ESC's.

TX in Idle up with TH on,plug in heli, let it initialize, flick TH off and both ESC's arm, flick it on and back off and they will spool up. If you turn TH on again the tail stays armed, but the main needs you to arm it again by flicking TH on and off again.

And none of those heli's are mine

Interesting that the HP06V2 has a higher headspeed at full throttle and 0 pitch than the 915, but the 915 has gobs of torque and bogs less, but the HP06V2 really shines with the governor, RPM is pretty much constant for 4 minutes!

More to come, I need to do:

HP06V2 with BLHeli on Silabs ESC's
HP05S (so far its best at 100% throttle)
HP08 both 1S and 2S (2S brushless tail might be interesting!)
Spin 16.3K ( I think the 14K is too low KV for good governor performance)
Turnigy 1015 inrunner on the tail
HP02T
HP03T new on the lower power setups
AEO tail motor

Need more hours in a day!

Nothing about the BEC gets changed with the firmware, its just a dumb chip on the board to drop voltage

Have you tested a 2s setup with the bec powering the 3in1?

What voltage is the bec set to?

The BEC is 5V, but only 1.5A. Not enough juice to power the board, servos, and tail motor. It's the reason Liftbag uses the Murata DC/DC converter on his 2S with XP12A.

Nope, programmable with your tx.

You set the desired rpm with the throttle stick. It's explained better in the instructions, but basically you move the throttle stick to the desired rpm for governing.
