Well that is impressive, but I meant a *real* inverted landing:

I traded it and 260 bucks for a Trex 550e V2. I kept the beast x though so if feels just like my 450x did only faster louder and a little more stressful to fly. My 450x is going to be missed big time though I loved that heli!!!

I crashed it.

I was practicing high stall turns and trying to get a straight vertical nose-first dive after that, "saving" some meters above ground.

I probably did it 20 times, once my thumbs got confused and did something wrong.

Who cares: sky was all blue, sun was shining, 9C degrees, lunch break was almost over and those had been 6 very good packs.
Don't try to invite me for a beer this evening... I'll be busy wrenching!

Ordered it

I'm pretty excited, but It'll probably sit for a while before I can fly it. Winter is here according to the blizzard outside.

Repaired from my last crash.

Servo, main shaft, main bearings, feathering spindle, feathering bearings, blade grip bearings, tail pitch linkage, anti rotation racket, landing skid, Blades, and tail boom brace.

I think that's it... That's actually damage from 3 crashes lol, it was still flyable after the first two. The servo I could have done gears in, but I replaced it and I'll rebuild it now and keep it for a backup.

Now I just have to update the 3GX to V3 and do setup, and she's back in the air!

Flew 16 packs with my new E-flite 450 motor and 12T pinion... not impressed by the power but runs very cool compared to the 440H with 11T pinion I was running before (at 80%)...

Just wandering why telemetry did not report ANY change in HS between 90% and 100%?

My throttle never increased past 80%, took adjusting the throttle channel endpoints to get the full range. This is probably what is going on with yours, you're sending 90% but the ESC is seeing 100. Unless you didn't have this problem with the 440H?

As for me, flew 6 packs though mine today, as well as 18 ( ) through the 130x. Did my first inverted flight with the 450 that wasn't just hovering. Doing the skinny 8s thing with it. I really need to get the balls up to try some rainbows, 98% nailed on the sim. I just need to get some extra height and have a go I think.

How do you do that on a DX8?

Just checked the monitor, and I'm a bit shocked: my Throttle, with stick fully up, says
Norm: 60%
IU1: 70%
IU2: 80%

while my throttle curves are:
Norm: 0-25-50-65-80
IU1: 85 flat
IU2: 90 flat

All other items in the monitor look fine and/or correspond to the setup (Aileron Elevator and Rudder correspond to the D/R settings, Pitch... not really).

What the hell?

ON EDIT: found this one
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=442746
which on post #7 explains the monitor "point of view" which creates problem when analyzing throttle, which is set from 0 to 100 but shown from -100 to +100...

Default 450x CF Tail Blade Question

Hi all,
I got a 450x for Christmas and I just put carbon fiber tails blades on.
My question is do I still need the washers like I do with the plastic ones. Also, is there supposed to be a little bit of play in the pitch slider?
Thank you,
aaron

Mine has always had a little play and it's always been fine.

Can't help with shimming the carbon blades or not, I've always been happy with the plastic ones.

Nice, get the adrenalin going?

I was shaking like a mexican in the arctic the first time I flipped mine upside down! This was after nailing all inverted orientations on the sim and the 130x. Can't help myself now, I probably spend more time upside down now than I do right side up. Working on inverted lazy 8s.
