One looks really silly when on all fours trying to find small parts on the grass.
How often do you feel the need to change blades at the field? Do you use different blades from flight to flight? The only time I'd ever need to pull blades after flying at the field is because of a crash and I'm done for the day with that heli anyway, so I'd be pulling blades (or what's left of them) at home.

As for lining up the spacers and blade in the grips, use a screwdriver or allen wrench smaller in diameter than the blade bolt. It's much easier to get everything aligned that way.

I just like trying different blades after every few flights. Keeps things interesting. Again, I do manage to line up the blade and the spacers, but I find blades that do not need spacers easier to work with.

Really? You don't eventually find a great set of blades and just run with them? What a PITA. And, don't you eventually run out of different blades to try? That's gotta be expensive.

I find it easier to just insert the blade and top spacer for more "wiggle room" when inserting the bolt. Get the bolt through those two and slide the bottom spacer right in so you only have one thing to line up. Works great.

Default These birds are not migrating

Winter flying can be fun! Left to right... Compass Atom 500 (perfect "big park" flyer!), Blade 450X #1 (now my primary beater), mCPX (thumb warmer):

Wait for my next pic on this same spot in the next few days These birds need to get some exercise or they get cranky. I am still deciding if I should go out there and shovel the white stuff off "my" take off/landing strip in the middle of 2 football fields or just carry a portable heli pad with me.

Yes it's CF. I went with it to mitigate some if the boom slippage issues I was having. Works great so far. The Halloween canopy from Canomod has a CF graphic that matches well.

Why are the tail blades on backwards on that carbon-ed out 450X?

Interesting! I must have got my belt twisted. They are on right for the direction of rotation and it flys great. Do you think it's worth tearing apart to fix. What are the consequences?
