Thanks Rene! The Atom 5.5 will probably be my last heli for a while. I am thinking of building a quad next for a change.

Well here it is. My blank Fusuno canopy painted by a friend.

Close, but lacking.

Heck, I'm happy with it. Much better than I could have done.

I like it a lot! Canopy fits much better than stock.

If only I wasn't afraid to crash it...

Hovered too close to ground, dumb thumb, chaotic bail out to no avail, and the heli found the only mud/water puddle in the field. Drying things out before an attempt to check for electronic damage.
So I'm posting my pics......no one said they had to be pretty.....

Dang make sure you replace the bearings in the heli. Crashing in water or mud sucks I have crashed in a mud hole once and now I try to make sure the ground I'm flying over is dry with no standing mud or water. I just did a re-kit and bought a 2nd 450x and broke down what I could use from the old one for spares.

Sleeving looks super cool! I think I'll do the same if some is left when I finish my Warp

How long did you dye the gears? Still waiting for the black Dylon to get in my favourite shop...

I know II don't have mine quite yet, but I've already created some artwork for the 1st one. Yeah, it's not a real photo, sorry. This will be the 1st of 2 Fusumo canopies I will want. The 2nd will be the same, most likely with red scales instead. I'm going to email them and see if I can buy some blank 450 3D shells. I'm guessing it'll take me a few days to paint the scales, depending on how big the canopy is.

Go for the Fusuno 450EX shell, it's bigger, nicer shape and batteries fit better.

Go Fusano but use easy to see colours. That green will be a killer to see at distance when the heli is at tree level!

Oh damn, I didn't think of that! And the scale pattern could blend in all too easy. . . .

Okay, thank you. I'm glad this is a work in progress

Yeah alot of guys go very bright colours...fluro etc...to help with orientation.

I found that white blades are best for me personally and a decently bright canopy. I tried bright fluro tails etc but concluded ultimately it's just time at the sticks and knowing where the thing is going to be...and trying to anticipate what to do when it's not!

Here's concept #2 -

. . . about four to six more ideas, and then I'll pick my favorite out of the bunch.

You'd said awhile back that the stock Main Blades worked for you so you weren't looking to replace them but just from my first few flights with the Revolution FBL Main Blades on Sunday I can honestly say that these are night-n-day compared to the stock 450 X Main Blades. I've tried the Radix and Edge FBL blades and didn't get this type of precision...I'm being completely Honest here.

It 'Pops' into the air on spool-up (Normal Mode), no vibs on spool-up, and feels like I added another tooth to my pinion gear. The flight was so responsive on Cyclic that I had to turn down pots 1 & 2 on the AR7200BX and it's still very sharp in input response. I'm very happy with these and hopefully within the next few days I'll be able to try the Flybarred Revolution blades on my 450 3. I just need to find an extra set of 450 X Main Blade spacers/washers; got'em somewhere in the house.

With your 3D skills you'd rock these!
Where do you buy your main blade spacers from? Would like to try a pair of these Revolution blades!
