Thanks. How many spacers per blade did you had to use? Just one?

I'm using the 2 on each blade. They are the factory spacers.

I had multiple canopies in my cart at Fusuno. I decided I really liked this pattern and it was cheaper than most (sorry, but my frugality was overwhelming at the time if purchase). So, I have no qualms about flying the X with a 3D canopy.
Now, I do know it may be blasphemous posting this in the 450X forum, but it's a 450X under that Fusuno. So I hope I don't offend any hardcore "X"ers out there.
I also drilled another hole to accommodate my Venom battery.

But, I do have a 450EX on order.,...so all is not lost.....

Ha! That's a nice canopy regardless.

My '450X' was originally a 450 3D so as long as it has the FBL head, it's a 450X IMHO...even if it has a VBar on it.

I like to think of my 450X as the 450XS anyway

Unlucky freaky. Apart from the tail it doesn't look too bad though, you should have it back in the air in no time.

A couple of pics mine from the other day....

Main spindle shaft, tail case, frame, blades.

Don't know: blade grips, main shaft, fbl, bearings,...

Servos are ok. I think the electronic part is also ok. Then it's not that much...

I wanted to take the Aluminium grips and tail case but for one aluminium part I get 5-7 plastic parts!!!

Snoop, the spacers can be purchased at any LHS that sells BLADE spare parts.

Default 450X in the snow

Can't wait for the snow to melt but it was getting sketchy landing in melting packed snow/ice. What definitely worked for landing in snow is the mod below... wrapping the skids and vertical stabilizer on the tail with foam pipe insulation:

Without the foam on the skids landings were becoming iffy... Stretched Atom with skids/struts buried in snow.

Below, my mCPX, 450X and Atom 5.5. My mCPX is just for warm up flights... I don't even do mild 3D with it as it usually blows out or just falls out of the sky. The 450X OTH, has become my beater and workhorse heli. I practice moves on it before doing the same moves on my larger helis. IMHO, if you have space to fly in, there is no need to waste money on mCPX BL, 130X, or 300X... go directly to the 450X and practice moves 2 or 3 mistakes high.

Another mod I did appears to work to prevent brownouts... plugging in a capacitor to the Rx. I have not switched my ESC to 6.0 volts, it is still on 4.8 volts. Before the capacitor mod, I would hear warnings on the DX8 telemetry everytime I do hard moves (big loops, sloppy tic tocs). With the capacitor, the warnings became fewer and shorter.

Default Winter shoes :-)

OK, so it's easily done to tip these small guys over on ice and snow... here's a solution that works great for me! Tarot 450 training gear:

They have a wider stance and makes it much more stable!

You need to drill 4 new holes in the plastic in order to make them fit. Tarot has stopped making them, so hurry up if you wanna secure some...

The canopy is some el cheapo I bought on FleaBay and painted myself. With "starboard" etc colors... It's made for T-Rex, so you need to trim a little and make 2 new holes.
