If your ESC is alright an external BEC is another option you could try instead of replacing your stock ESC , then your ESC is supplying power for the motor only.
Either a Yep or CC ESC would work ,I believe most use the CC Ice lite 50a with good results and now its superseded you may be able to pick one up cheeper!
The 12t will give you better flight time for sure and if your interested in a Bec I'll let you know how mine goes when I get it , install it and try it out.
KX is using stock Esc (I believe),H450, mg servos with an external Bec you could ask him how's its going?
NWD.
Close. I run the stock ESC, stock 440 motor, MKS DS92A+ cyclics, MKS DS95i tail, and a Polaris Gryphon BEC.

I have not noticed any temp issues at all with this set up. I also fly in high temps here in Cent Am.

I do intend to go to the H450 if and when my 440 poops out on me. Likely I'll also add a Castle Ice or Phoenix when that happens as well, just to get the governor.

Off on one, close! Thanks KX.
I've read the H450 works really well governed and I've been told it enjoys low timing setting as well and if my stock ESC fries I'll have no option but to upgrade and have these options available for use!
On a side note I recived my Gryphon polaris and I was sent a tiny booster instead .

I have a left over 450MX from my T-Rex (it's on 6S now). Anyone know how that one compares to the 440H?

The 450MX has 3400KV and the 440H has 4200KV, so I guess the MX has a lot more torque. Which again should allow it to be geared taller?

Guess it's a bit heavier with it's 83 grams? How much is the 440H?

Cheers

Your 450mx is closer in specification to th EfliteHeli H450 brushless outrunner motor ,3600Kv 6 pole 82grms 3.5A @10v 40A continuous 55A max burst ,Input Watts ;610.
This motor works really well on the B450x geared on a 12t or 13t pinion.
The Eflte 1360H 440 weights 68grms.
NWD.

Thx a lot! When using 12 or 13T pinon, do you run governor then or just 100% flat?

Part no for those pinions?

With Lynx helical gear, where could I get pinions for that? I see Lynx have 12-13-14 for 3.17mm shaft - is that what the MX has? (sorry, at work, and couldn't find info online)

I use the Eflite H450 with a 13t pinion at 80% . Run approximately same head speed as stock just with alot more torque! Stock Esc no governor.
The 450Mx has a 3.5mm shaft I I don't know what pinions are avaliable to use on a B450x 0.5mod.
Sorry can't help you there SHYguy.
NWD.

Thx! A bit tricky there... Lots of pinions for Align, but those are 0.6 mod vs 0.5 mod for the Lynx stuff Probably Lynx will supply more options in the future...

Can't see me going back to the stock gears, the Lynx slant ones are soooooo much better!

A million thanks right back at yah! Too bad we live far apart - we'd be a sweet tandem flying team together.

I love that white on yours! It pops!

Sweet photo!

Please don't hurt me, but the main blades don't look like they're tracking. They look bad.

Beautiful pic though!

You're right the poor tracking is actually causing some vibes... I just need to spend time on it.
