![]() Just a few pics with one of the new Lynx Evo canopies installed. It's nothing you guys haven't seen already, so I just grabbed it from a few different angles. As you can see there are no ventilation holes in the bottom, but it does have that nice bright redish-orange patch on the bottom which I like for orientation while inverted. I was stoked that it's actually more on the orange side than I was expecting. Some of the pictures make it look like it was more red than it is in person. The 6S 1300mAh packs fit under it with no problem.

![]() That's a nice canopy jchandler!
That's the way to do it, one micro, a 450, and 700 gives the full experience.

![]() I always wanted one but at $500 and a measly waiter salary I could only settle for paying the rent. Then things got better and at the same time the new models brought these down to avg $300-$320 if you knew where to look, so I couldn't get just one.
Sorry for the lack of entertainment as I'm not bling-bling oriented. #1 (Currently bound and actively flying): 35X smooth-landing flights with 3-5 close-calls (knock on wood). Upgrades: Microheli canopy and RJX CF blades. Damage: Under the skids there are some micro-scratches from landing on pavement. ![]() #2 Standing by when the inevitable happens to #1 and it becomes spare parts: Upgrade: canopy only Flights: 0 - hasn't even been bound to the transmitter yet. Damage: None. ![]() #3 Standing by for when #2 calls it quits Upgrade: None Flights: 0 - Same as #2 Damage: the plastic film is peeling off the Beast and some dust from sitting on top of my livingroom table ignored. ![]() |

![]() How does it fly when compared to the 450 3D? I used to own a 450 3d prior to my 450Xs and by comparison the 3d flew like it was drunk and suicidal.

![]() Drunk and suicidal?! Brilliant description! Pretty much exactly that. I am loving the 450X much easier to fly IMHO.

![]() Yeah, and oddly enough what influenced me to get the 450X was a 300X I had which also handled superior to the 450 3D. I have no idea why some people claim it's a good bird to learn on since it's so unstable by comparison.

![]() I think the instability of the 450 3D was dowen to the tame settings in the manual. I could not get on with it until I upped the TC to 100% flat using 100 dr and 20 expo. It flew very stable in winds up to 12mph and hovered hands free. I only converted it to flybarless when the gyro went tits up. When the price of a spartan quark drops when nobody wants them it will become flybarred again as I found it a nice relaxing heli to fly.

I see your using the same landing gear as I use and the zip tie mod. I also use the lynx frame. Did you drill some extra holes in the frame bottom plate to accommodate the zip ties? Great looking bird! ![]() |

![]() I didn't drill extra holes, but I did have to drill out the aluminum mounting blocks so the holes would be big enough for the zip ties to pass through. You kinda have to commit to it since using screws after doing this wouldn't be possible. But I love this mod so it was a no-brainer. If you look closely you can see that I also used some small rubber donuts between the skids and the frame to lift it up a little bit and add some compression for the zip ties.
