Default Need your opinion

Hi everybody,
decided to try nitro heli (no nitro experience at all, flying only HK450 with co-pilot 2 till now). After some research thinking about getting a used Raptor 50 of T-REX 600, just found one for $650, need your opinion about this deal:
TREX 600 Super PRO
OS 50 Hyper with Thunder tiger Redline 3D muffler
Align CF blades
Align DS610 cyclic servos
Futaba S9253 throttle servo
Futaba GY611 with S9256 on tail
Futaba GV-1 governor
Align 2 in 1
AR9000 receiver.
Seller claims everything in perfect condition. Is it a good deal after all for a nitro beginner or should I go with something else? Planning to hook co-pilot 2 on it. Thanks

How many Gallons through the engine is a critical factor and whether the rear bearing and/or piston rings have been replaced is important. The electronics sound of fine standing. I guess it would be a brilliant deal if it were $150 cheaper but I am not in the US so I could be wrong on the price part. The engine's condition would be the deal breaker here for sure.

Agree with the other posts, for anyone getting into helis, a used T600 has to be the best deal going, ton of aftermarket parts, Align still offers all spares. Since it is not the hottest new heli, they are heavily devalued. Some people selling them don't realize this and ask more than what they are worth.

The 50 is also a great engine and easy to tune, the issues are how many hours are on it and how was it cared for. They are underpowered by todays standards, but will do all basic maneuvers easily.

With any used heli, count on going through it and checking all bolts for proper loc-tite, replacing any worn bearings and checking all wires. I always mentally add this to the selling price and adjust my offer from there. An example is the price of a ring, sleeve and bearings for the engine can cost more than the engine is worth.

This is one reason why some people prefer new, cost more, but you know what you are getting. But the right used heli can be a less expensive way to get in the air.

"Perfect condition" means different things to different people, and this is if they are all honest. Some are so picky, that everything is in great condition. Others are not experienced enough or don't have the mechanical ability to know the difference.
