In that case I agree with you that an answer should come swiftly. Please let us know how they end up taking care of you.

I have been watching these forums to see how SAB handles first run issues because I am interested in owning a Goblin myself

I contacted my dealer about my cracked canopy. the canopy was cracked when i opened the kit, i sent the email out and got a reply quick, said that he would forward out to SAB. 2 weeks have now gone by and no reply from SAB about replacing the canopy. I dont want a damaged canopy on this $3000 heli. I sent an email to Canomod asking if they would sell me one and got a reply saying they would sell me 2 for the price of one way to go Canomod i sent a reply back "deal" and 3 days now, i haven't see a reply yet. hope they stick with the deal.

Back to this subject my boom measures 146mm so i'm good. just did the maiden yesterday and so far I LIKE this heli. more tests today

Just built the 2 kits. 1 had a clearance of 127mm and the other 129mm. I have put the tape in there as per Bert's recommendation but I wont be happy flying it like that for tooo long.

Are SAB going to do something about this issue does anyone know. Is'nt the tape only a temp fix??

I have not contacted my supplier yet, will do that now

I finished my goblin…from blade to top of tail : I get 143mm. is that bad or???
Do I have to put tape(shim) under both of nylon screws or only one of screws ? I watched Berts video but I didn’t get it. ( tape mode one or 2 screws?)

FWIW - My understanding is that SAB will not be replacing any booms. And that this fix is deemed acceptable as a permanent fix.

If you are <145mm, do the mod period.

Place the tape only under the rear screw.

I did the mod, and with two pieces of the grey 3m tape, I could only get it to 143.5mm.

Where did the info come out that SAB wasn't replacing defective booms. I'm not real happy right now, because of both the crappy layup work and paint, and now with the aluminum mount incidence being off. I was told by SAB to contact HD about the crappy paint and layup work back in February.

can you clear coat it with krylon fusion paint or something like that? is there special paint on these helis? On rc jets, they use automotive paint for good reason, but i doubt they are using this on the electric heli

Is this clearance something to watch out for on the 630? If so, what's the minimal clearance?
