Default Air Time RC Products MCPX Skids

I received my order from these guys today and I am very happy with them. Much like the guy in the video I have a box full of trashed stock skids, a pair of skids from MH that didnt last one flight and a couple of Extreme skids that lasted a little longer than stock but not much.
The skids come in a flat envelope and to my surprise, they were Black and not the white that was offered at first. Also there were more than I had ordered. It is clear when you assemble these that they are as strong and durable as the video shows.
Customer service was outstanding and shipping time was actually early.
Two huge thumbs up to these guys for coming up with a great product that has been so desperately needed. Both of my helis have been grounded for two weeks because I refused to buy another set of stock skids.
As a side benefit, They also fit my MSRX.
You can reach these guys at [email protected]

+1 on these. I have 2 sets of these skids and a couple more on the way. They are legit and reasonable to buy. I won't steal his thunder, but I also saw that TNTBurnett did a review of them on YouTube today, and also thought they were really good. These are good skids and worth a try.

You can email the maker of the skids at the email address in Vandal's thread to get an order started.

Can we get a picture of these mounted on a helicopter? I'd like to see how they look.

Ask and you shall receive. Here is a set that Rich made for a 550 battery. Pretty freakin' awesome. I also have a set in black. You do have to do a bit of filing to get them to fit in the stock frame but they seem to work out very well.

Yep, Rich is a good guy to deal with. Never met him before but he was quick to respond to emails. The skids he offers come in your choice of black or white and your choice of battery tray to fit either your stock batts, 300's or 550's. Mine should be here in a couple days.

For those who are wondering, the filing for fit was done on purpose so that you can get it to a perfect fit for your heli. Cost me $13 bucks to get it to the next province from where he is at.

Yeah.. they're a great set of skids... you crash, they bend, you straighten them out, then you fly again!

Just found mine today, they came in an envelope and not a box like I was looking for.

They look great and seem to be indestructible. I'm not willing to intentionally crash my heli, so crash tests will have to wait.... A very short while.

I haven't the slightest idea what you did to break all those stock landing gear.
I broke one set in 40 crashes.

Looks great I wish they'd make the whole heli out of that stuff! I hope they reach the UK I'd definitely buy a set, the guy that makes them should pitch a few to fast-lad (where a lot of us buy our spares). In the meantime my solution to avoid breaking the landing gear is to fly inverted, then I just break other bits!

It's pretty easy to break the stock landing skids flying in below freezing weather as the skids and everything else gets brittle. Especially when you have crashed on frozen ground it's like crashing on concrete - no give at all. So, frozen brittle skids + frozen ground=broken skids.

I got mine yesterday and they do look and feel so up to par. I threw them together and automatically put a set on my beater heli. I can't wait for the weather to clear so I can put them through the ringer. I can tell that I am not going to be disappointed in these.

NOTE: While everyone waits for theirs. I've tried a few things to repair the stock skids including heat shrink which doesn't really last. The best technique I've found so far is to repair the break with Thick CA, then after the CA cures surround the area with good hot glue. Not the cheap Wal Mart hot glue but the good stuff from Lowe's or Home Depot. The brand is Arrow.

Visual Aid ---> this stuff is strong.

Try using a lighter to heat the broken skids then press the pieces together. It is like heat welding. It works like a charm. Especially if you are at the field and don't have extra skids with you. Heat with the blue flame part for no more that a second then quickly press the two parts back together. A buddy of mine showed me this trick and it is slick. No need to wait for CA to cure or dry. Heat it, stick it, fly it.

I can't wait to check my mailbox when I get home today. Hope my skids are there.
